Provides food pantry on-site to those in need of food. Provides hygiene pantry for the homebound seniors. School supplies program is collaborative effort with Helping Hands Hawaii. The Back-to-School Brigade is an annual nationwide campaign by Operation Homefront that collects and distributes school supplies to eligible dependents of service members. Through this assistance program, military children receive free back-to-school supplies, including backpacks, to help them start the new school year on the right foot. (Domestic Abuse Shelter) Domestic Abuse Shelters provide a safe haven for abused partners and their children. It is a time-out period for abused partners to learn about the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse and how to develop a "safety plan". It is also a time for learning about and making choices; discovering that they are not at fault for the abuse; building self-esteem and learning self-empowerment. The Domestic Abuse Shelters help families and children escape from domestic violence and establish independent lives. The Shelter offers up to 120 days of a safe haven, basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plans, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. (ALA Hawaii Girls State Foundation, ALA Hawaii Girls State) One week leadership and civics engagement camp in the summer for rising girls that are seniors in high school.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. (TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Emergency Farmer Relief) The State of Hawaii Department of Agriculture and Biosecurity provides the Emergency Farmer Relief Program. Farmers, ranchers, and businesses who experienced damage or losses from the March 2026 Kona Low 1 or Kona Low 2 may receive a one-time grant of $1,500 to help with immediate needs resulting from the storm.
