(Mothers Milk) Hawaii Mothers' Milk, Inc. (HMMI) is a comprehensive breastfeeding resource center, for both families and health professionals in the State of Hawaii. HMMI provides services to new mothers statewide through our telephone warmline, individualized breastfeeding counseling, rentals and sales of hospital grade and/or home purchase breast pumps and supplies. Seeking volunteers to assist with clerical and other nonpatient duties. Donations accepted. This program offers lactation counseling and breastfeeding support, breast pump rentals, and breast pump sales.

(Hale Hoomalu) Provides services to individuals who are experiencing domestic violence or threatened with same. Offers assistance in obtaining temporary restraining orders (TRO) and complying with related court appearances. Provides court advocacy and support. Offers protective services for families with abused or neglected children through the TRO process (if applicable). Provides psycho-educational groups (both court ordered and voluntary) to men who batter. Provides on-going support groups for victims of domestic violence.

(MEO) Works with people who have bad credit, no credit, low-income, and no measurable assets to provide assistance and guidance in the loan application process through loan approval from our Internal and External Loan Committees. Small business loans range from $500 to $10,000 to be used for startup operations or the expansion of an existing small business. Step loans are available after six months of on-time payments. A borrower can seek an additional $25,000 for expansion. Emergency loans ranging from $200 to $2000 are also available.

(Family Visitation Center - Oahu) Family Visitation Centers provide a safe, neutral setting for children to visit with their non-custodial parents or transition from one parent to the other. After a divorce or separation, family visitation services may be arranged by agreement of both parents and by court order.

For youth who have run away or experienced a crisis. The program is geared to help youth work out their problems and whenever possible keep the family unit intact. Family counseling is an important part of their stay. Parental consent is necessary unless the youth is referred by Child Protective Services. The Emergency Shelter Services Program is geared to help youth work out their problems while keeping the family unit intact with the help of regular family counseling. The length of stay typically ranges from 1 to 30 days and are offered in two settings, Group Shelters and Kamala Homes. There is one shelter for boys and one shelter for girls.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Our Wahiawa site opened in 1989. Our facility is located on the grounds of Olive Methodist Church, although we are not associated with any religious denomination. We offer a developmentally appropriate program, serving 49 children ranging in age from 2-5 years. Our toddler class accepts children in various stages of toilet training. Licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Service and nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist.
