Kumu Kahua means "Original stage" or "Platform". Kumu Kahua is a Playwright's Theatre in the State of Hawaii, providing the local community with 35 years of plays written by local playwrights for the community to attend. The 100 seater black box theatre performs five plays during its Season of Shows. Produces theatre oriented towards Hawaii's people, in their multi-ethnic diversity. Acts as a platform for local writers as well as hands-on operation for local actors, directors and theatre technicians. Offers classes in playwriting and acting. (Ho`okele Case Management) HUGS provides case management for families with children that have life threating, chronic illnesses. Case management helps connects HUGS families to different community resources and agencies to provide a variety of services based on need. HUGS also provides financial assistance (emergency airfare) and non-perishable food to clients/families enrolled with HUGS.

Early Head Start (EHS) provides comprehensive services for families prenatal until the child is 3 years old. Maui Famiy Support Services (MFSS EHS) promotes early childhood education and development by using evidence based curriculum that promotes healthy development and "school readiness" goals. MFSS EHS program focused on family strengths while building and sustaining goals to promote healthy living. MFSS EHS provides both center based option and also weekly Home Visiting services. All Early Head Start services are free of charge for families who meet the eligibility criteria.
