(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. (Family Peace Center - Maui) Maui Family Peace Center teaches non-violent problem-solving skills for families struggling with adult aggression and behavioral dysfunction, emphasizing partnership, equality, and respect among families. Support for survivors/victims and child witnesses of domestic violence that includes individual and group counseling, case management, parental classes, community referrals and legal system advocacy. Support for offenders includes violence intervention groups. Adolescent services provided free of charge for those in need of effective problem solving skills to manage anger and/or those exhibiting violent behavior and anger control issues; anyone can refer themselves or a family member. Community education and training for schools, community groups, and agencies available.

Provides comprehensive services to persons in acute mental health crisis or who are suffering from a serious mental illness. Provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment, counseling and psychotherapy, case management, outreach, crisis intervention, and psychosocial rehabilitation.

Shelter of Wisdom rents homes which are shared by our men. Men live in double rooms with shared living areas and house chores. We provide intensive case management until our men are accepted into permanent housing. We provide household furnishings for their new homes, which are donated to us by the community. Men must maintain their sobriety, hygiene, medications, meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping and behavior.

(Hele-On Ka Hoʻokele) Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council's (HCEOC) Transportation Program offers Hawaii Island residents who are elderly, low-income, or disabled access to essential sites such as medical facilities, nutrition sites, shopping centers, banks, post offices, government buildings, and places of employment. Services are based on availability, service areas and road conditions.

(Hawaii Childrens Discovery Center) Offers a "world-class" educational facility which provides families with a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow together. The center is filled with "state-of-the-art" hands-on, interactive exhibits which encourage visitors to learn through play. The exhibits are designed to stimulate children's curiosity and to promote the concept of "life-long learning". Four major galleries full of exhibits provide a stimulating and educational experience for the young and "young at heart" to experience and enjoy. Volunteers are welcomed and training is provided. Accepts volunteers who are at least 17 years of age and able to stand and move throughout the exhibit galleries.

Offers weekly hot supper at Kealakehe Intermediate School for anyone who needs a hot meal. Run by volunteers preparing and serving donated food and food purchased with donated funds. Parents And Children Together provides a safe, nurturing facility that offers survivors of domestic violence and their children housing for up to 12 months. Services include housing education, childcare referral, and employment counseling.
