We work to empower our clients to become more independent and participate fully in the communities where they live, work, and play. Services are delivered with dignity, passion, and the ultimate goal of self-determination. Program focus areas are enhancing independence, person-centered planning, social skills and enrichments, community integration and access, employment skills, personal care, and daily living skills. Adult Home and Community-based Services include group and individual services; employment services, Adult Day Health (ADH), Community Learning Service (CLS), Community Learning Service-Individual (CLS-I) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism and down syndrome.

(PAT) Increase Your Keiki’s Opportunity for School Success! Program for families of prenatal moms, infants and toddlers called “Parents As Teachers,” or PAT - a home-based program for families that begins before your keiki is born until a keiki turns three. Through home visits, we support parents with practical, research-based strategies and activities to support the importance of enhancing school readiness during these critical and formative years of a keiki’s life. These strategies enhance parent child interactions, strengthen ohana relationships and support parents in being their keiki’s first and most influential teacher. Literacy is a major focus of PAT, books are used in every visit. The “Parents as Teachers” Foundational Curriculum is provided through supportive certified PAT parent educator’s home visits and screenings in assisting parents in understanding the latest neuroscience research and how it relates to their keiki. Recruits businesses, firehouses, agencies, etc. in the community as Safe Places, identified by easily recognized yellow and black diamond shaped signs. Any youth can go to a Safe Place for help. A trained worker at the Safe Place will talk to the youth to determine the immediate problem and act in the youth's behalf.

(SASS, Empowering Alternatives Program, EAP, Sexual Assault Response and Advocacy Services, SARAH) Operates a 24-hour crisis hotline for persons affected by a sex assault, including women, men, girls and boys. Offers information, referral and direct support to any person victimized. Support is also provided during police, medical examinations and legal matters surrounding the crime, advocacy, counseling, and therapy.

Rents and sells home medical equipments and rehabilitation aids such as manual wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, walking aids, bedding and bathroom aids, etc.

Provides free and professional support services including counseling, support groups, educational workshops, publications and financial assistance to anyone affected by cancer. All CancerCare services are provided by oncology social workers and world-leading cancer experts.

(E Maka'ala School) E Makaala School is a private school includes grades PK-6 for boys and girls.

Provides management and technical assistance to small businesses. Provides consulting, workshops and seminars, and business research. Provides resource materials, books, videos, and a computer lab.

The Hawaii Fire Department is primarily responsible for fire protection and suppression, pre-hospital emergency medical services, land and sea search and rescue, hazardous materials response, ocean safety, and fire prevention and public education for the County of Hawaii. Provides permit applications for use of tents; to burn fireworks or Christmas trees; for application of flammable finishes; for liquified petroleum gas tank installation, storage and use; handling of flammable, combustible, toxic, corrosive and other hazardous gases, solids and liquid material; installation and maintenance of automatic, manual and other private fire alarm systems and fire extinguishing equipment; maintenance regulation of fire escapes.

Operates a prison for high security offenders and medium security offenders.

(Aloha Diaper Pantry) The Aloha Diaper Bank supports newborns up to 3 years old who are facing poverty or family crises due to job loss or personal circumstances. Working in collaboration with various local agencies that serve low-income, homeless, and families in crisis, we provide essential diapers and wipes. Families are encouraged to register with one of the partner agencies to receive ongoing support and access other valuable services during challenging times. Additionally, the Aloha Diaper Bank offers a one-time emergency assistance package, including 75 diapers and 2 packs of baby wipes, to address immediate needs.

(DCP) Raise Awareness and Educate Humanity about Dyslexia by providing Educational Workshops, Dyslexia & Dysgraphia Screenings, Informational support, Specialized Multi-Sensory Tutoring (in person and online) to empower children and adults in becoming independent, fluent learners in reading, writing, spelling, handwriting, and mathematics.

Helps people who have a desire to quit drinking by sharing experiences with alcoholism and recovery.

(Hawaii Gas - Customer Service - Maui County) Hawaii Gas provides propane and synthetic natural gas service and installation to utility, tank, and bottled gas customers on all islands. Must be an authorized account holder to access customer information. If you smell gas or suspect an emergency situation, leave the area immediately and call 9-1-1, then Hawaii Gas’ emergency 24-hour hotline at (808) 526-0066.

Provides taxicab transportation including wheelchair accessible taxi transportation. All fares are determined by metered rates as dictated by the City & County of Honolulu. Program will be expanded to include special programs for senior citizens.

(Hale Ho'omalu - Maui, Hale Hoomalu) Transitional group housing is provided 24 hours a day, on-site and on-call. CARF accredited.

Hoa Aina O Makaha provides U-Pick events where guests are welcome to harvest from designated fields, assist farmers with planting, wash and weigh what you harvest, learn health benefits/recipes of whatever is in their baskets, and take starters home for their gardens. U-Pick events are typically scheduled for the last Saturday of each month from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm (unless otherwise noted). Visit the website to check the Upcoming Events. U-pick is not available during the summer.

Parents And Children Together provides comprehensive early childhood education services for parents with low-income and children, birth to 3 years old, and children with special needs. (HCAP Administration) Honolulu Community Action Program, Inc. (HCAP) offers a variety of programs and services designed to help Oahu's low-income individuals and families to achieve self-reliance. Programs include Head Start, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), food assistance, employment services, after-school STEM, and individualized case management. HCAP also promotes community development and advocacy through resident advisory councils and private-public volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are encouraged to contact HCAP for opportunities to help children, youth and adults in need.
