Transitional Apartment Program (TAP) provides housing for victims who need safety and support and are ready to go to school/work. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plan, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. Length of stay varies depending on individual needs and up to 24 months at the Transitional Apartments.

AmeriCorps NCCC includes two routes: traditional and FEMA. Traditional Corps teams partner with local and national organizations to complete hands-on projects in a designated region of the country. FEMA Corps Teams serve nationally under Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) direction to complete administrative projects related to disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Serve for 12 months and rack up professional skills that are highly transferable. Coordinate with nonprofits and government agencies, plan response and relief efforts during a disaster, or conduct damage assessments after a disaster. Team Leaders also serve for 12 months in FEMA Corps.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households.
