Our Kupuna Volunteers

(Hawaii VA Foundation) Community volunteers shops for and deliver groceries, medication and necessary supplies to the kupuna's home every 2 weeks. The kupuna pays for the groceries that the volunteer delivers. The volunteer does not enter the kupuna's home. Inquire about other islands in the service area.

Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. Applicants may apply, once per program year for one of the two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI). Energy Crisis program assists with up to $650 to restore power to the residence of a household whose electricity or gas has been shut off or is about to be terminated.
