Administers a specialized program for veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and seasonal activities, crafts, and excursions. Provides prostheses, orthoses, orthopedic shoes, sensory aids, wheelchairs, medical equipment and supplies for therapeutic and rehabilitative use for any eligible veteran upon a determination of feasibility and medical need.

Goodwill Industries of Hawaii Immigrant Services Resource Center provides acculturation services, financial literacy training, access to community resources such as housing, legal and advocacy services.

(ATV, YWCA of Kauai Alternatives to Violence) Provides psycho-education and support designed to interrupt the cycle of violence. Assists clients with anger management. Encourages, teaches and advocates non-violent behaviors. Available as a resource in the community for speakers and presentations.

(PPA) The Partnership for Prescription Assistance brings together America’s pharmaceutical companies, doctors, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public or private program that’s right for them. Its mission is to increase awareness of patient assistance programs and boost enrollment of those who are eligible. It is a service available by phone and web site that acts like a clearinghouse, checking all known discount or free services to try and meet prescription needs by eligible callers or web inquirers.

The Golden West Chapter hosts a number of annual activities and Community Outreach events in Hawaii. These opportunities raise ALS awareness and funding that help provide valuable care management services to people living with ALS, free of charge, and promote public policy initiatives on behalf of the ALS community in Hawaii. All funds raised in Hawaii are re-invested in Hawaii.

(SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Hawaii Foodbank Oahu’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications over the phone. In-person assistance is available by appointment only.

Produces plays and drama education programs which help youth gain an understanding of the arts through theatrical and drama experience. Provides teacher study guides for all plays. 6-8 plays produced yearly; 2-4 tour to the neighbor islands. (HMSA) Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) Centers and offices offer in-person customer service to members and employers with an HMSA health plan as well as individuals who are looking to enroll in an HMSA plan. Offers medical, dental, vision, and drug health care plans to individuals and employers. Plan options include fee-for-service, preferred provider organization, health maintenance organization and plans for students, self-employed and Medicare supplement.

(Hoopono Services for the Blind Branch) Assists people with visual impairment, blindness, or both deafness and blindness to obtain and maintain employment and/or independent functioning. Provides evaluation, counseling and guidance. Provides physical and mental restoration, vocational and other training, job development and placement, and supported employment. Supplies assistive aids and devices. Teaches mobility skills, personal and home management, and communication skills.

Private school includes grades PK-8 for boys and girls.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. (WIN Kauai) We provide clean and sober housing, bridge to success transitional housing, resource referrals, parenting classes, life skills classes, substance abuse relapse prevention, intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, re-entry from incarceration, domestic violence education, employment services, case management, and advocacy. WIN is committed to guiding women and teens towards sobriety, self-esteem and responsibility through our warm, nurturing and holistic approach. We help our clients develop positive life skills they need to become independent and productive members of our community. We do everything we can to break the generational cycle of hopelessness and abuse. WIN gives preference for admission of pregnant women in our housing and treatment program.
