The Intake, Information and Referral department provides Information and Referral to the specific programs for those who are eligible.

Inspects and certifies grade, quality and condition of agriculture products such as fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, foliage, shell eggs, animal feed, coffee, nuts and processed food products. Develops grade standards. Educates public to use grade standards. Administers federal standards and compliance.

Increases public awareness of the measures that can be taken to protect homes, businesses and property from the threat of fire. Includes information on faulty wiring and other electrical hazards, kitchen fires, smoking risks, child-related fire safety, flammable materials storage, brush clearance, fire retardant building materials and ground cover and other similar topics. Provides fire education and code enforcement. Issues special fireworks and public firework display permit. Also issues tent permits, portable extinguishers and systems permits, flammable finish permits, public assembly permits, and tank permits. Fireworks permits may be obtained from all Satellite City Halls for these holidays: New Year’s, Chinese New Year, and Independence Day (Fourth of July). For fireworks permits other than on the holidays listed, go to the Honolulu Fire Department Fire Prevention Bureau. Fireworks permits will not be issued at any fire station.

(EFNEP) Assists families with limited income to plan low-cost, simple, healthy meals. Families learn to shop wisely, stretch their food dollars and resources, and keep foods safe. Homemakers meet in groups with the Nutrition Program Assistant community sites. Meets weekly or bi-weekly (twice a month). Groups arranged by collaborating agencies.

(Ohana Finding) Family Finding is a process designed to identify, locate and engage family members of children and youth who are in foster care. Family Finding utilizes database case mining and internet searches to identify and locate family and other possible relatives. Individuals who are identified as possible relatives are verified via phone contact and/or letters, and names of confirmed family members are compiled onto maternal and paternal family lists. These lists are then submitted to Child Welfare Services (CWS), the GAL, and the EPIC Ohana Conference coordinator or the Ohana Connections specialist to assist them in engaging relatives to help care for, provide support for, or reconnect to the child in care. (SSO) Department of Education Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Program provides meals free of charge at participating public schools for children 1 year old - 18 years old June 9, 2026 - July 17, 2026. Children do not need to be enrolled in public school to participate. Schools will serve breakfast 7:15 am - 8:45 am and lunches from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. There will be no meal service on the June 11, 2026 (Kamehameha Day) and July 3, 2026 (Independence Day observed) state holidays. All meals must be eaten on campus; no grab-and-go options are available. Children do not have to be enrolled at a participating school to be served, and meals will consist of solid foods.
