Three meals per day are prepared at our Sumner Men’s Shelter and served across our 10-shelter network. Help prepare and serve meals at the men’s shelter. The HPCC mission is to make prostate cancer a primary health care priority in Hawaii, and to eliminate prostate cancer as a cause of suffering and death. The HPCC strives to save lives by promoting awareness of prostate cancer in Hawaii, with special emphasis on prevention, early detection, treatment options, and survival.

Environmental education for families and children

(FFT, Functional Family Therapy) This evidence-based program works with at-risk youth and their families. Prevention and intervention services are family focused and emphasize the development of family members’ inner strengths and allows for greater self-sufficiency. Services are provided at in-home and community-based locations. This is a 3-6 month family therapy treatment system provided in a home/office setting for youth ages 11 years old -18 years old experiencing a wide range of externalizing behavior disorders (e.g. conduct, violence, drug abuse) along with family problems (e.g. family conflict, communication) and often with additional emotional problems (e.g. anxiety and depression). At least one adult/parental figure must be willing to assume long-term parenting role and participate with service providers for the duration of treatment.

The Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS) continues to closely monitor the federal government shutdown and its potential impact on programs that provide essential food assistance to Hawaii families. If the federal shutdown continues into November, federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program may be unavailable, which could delay or prevent the issuance of November benefits. RICO investigates complaints that allege possible licensing violations. Licensing violations vary depending upon the particular license, but include allegations such as professional misconduct, misrepresentation, poor workmanship, substance abuse, or operating without a required license. RICO receives complaints from a wide variety of sources, including consumers, boards, other law enforcement agencies, other state boards, businesses, competitors, and licensees.
