(After School No'eau Program) Ulu A‘e Learning Center uses a high touch, personalized approach in growing the hearts and minds of children during the out of school time though storytelling, Native Hawaiian practices and stewardship experiences. The after school time begins with homework help and moves to lessons in Native Hawaiian practices. Our facility is equipped with indoor and outdoor flexible learning spaces. Three computers are available for student use. Those with personal laptops or iPads will have access to our WIFI for the purpose of completing homework or school projects.

(Ohana Energy Gift Program) The Hawaiian Electric Company Ohana Energy Gift Program allows customers of Hawaiian Electric to make payments toward a designated recipient's electric account. The recipient will receive an acknowledgement letter once the gift amount has been applied to his or her account. Gift givers will receive a confirmation letter once the designated recipient's account information has been verified and the gift amount has been applied. Ohana Energy Gifts are not tax deductible donations. The gifts may be anonymous, or the gift giver may choose to also send a special acknowledgement card with a personalized message. If a recipient is not designated, the energy gift will be given to individuals and families in need. Visit the website to download and print out the Ohana Energy Gift Form. (YO) Since 1989, Youth Outreach (YO!) has provided medical and social services to homeless youth. Beyond basic services, YO! offers encouragement and the opportunity to create positive change, which most homeless youth don't find anywhere else. Services are provided free of charge. Community support is vital to help sustain the program. GED training available, as well as employment counseling. Services are provided at the YO! drop-in center and by outreach teams, who travel in Waikiki offering assistance and information to potential YO! clients. YO! is jointly operated by Waikiki Health and Hale Kipa, Inc.

DHS Disability Determination Branch. The Disability Determination Branch (DDB) is also part of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. DDB determines whether Hawaii applicants for Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits meet the required medical and/or psychiatric/psychological and vocational criteria to be found disabled. (American Red Cross of Hawaii) Provides immediate emergency assistance to victims of disasters, including food, shelter, clothing, crisis counseling and other services. Offers classes in CPR, first-aid, aquatics training. For military personnel, provides emergency communication services, counseling and referral services. Provides international tracing service. Provides job search and placement services including assessment counseling, and referrals. Provides labor and market information. Cooperates with agencies involved with federal and state job training programs. Refers clients to job training programs. Provides resume and job search preparation workshops.

Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment.

(Homeless Shelter) Shelter facilities provide guests with hot showers, daily meals (3 meals a day), storage lockers, mail service, and access to services that include case management, healthcare, employment, and housing assistance.

Provides health care coordination to target populations. Participates with communities to problem-solve health issues. Provides health education in women and child health, chronic diseases, communicable diseases and prevention. Facilitates access to health care. Conducts screening tests and source/contact investigations on tuberculosis (TB) cases. Provides health services in public schools, consultation services to private schools, day care, and residential care homes. No longer provides keiki immunizations, please call Hilo or Kona public health nursing.

The School Readiness Project provides developmental, hearing, vision screening and case management for children ages two to five years old in the community, at preschools or at selected events. Workshop and training presentations are provided to parents and professionals on the importance of early childhood health and development to emphasize the importance of children being kindergarten ready.

Salvation Army Hawaii has a 50 beds (cots) overnight shelter for adults only. Dinner is provided. Check in time Monday-Sunday 4:00 pm on a first come, first served basis. A maximum of 1 pet is allowed. Showers available with a shower trailer daily. No drugs, no alcohol allowed. Men and women will be separated.

Common Grace facilitates partnerships between public elementary schools and nearby neighborhood churches in order to provide mentors for at-risk children. Volunteers goes through our basic training seminar that we have through out the school year. We look for mentors that have willing and loving hearts ready to be a friend to the kids at the local elementary school.

Legal Aid Society of Hawaii helps persons meeting Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines for homelessness get documents (State Identification (ID), birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, and/or Social Security Card). A homeless verification letter may be required to process waivers for the fees for a State of Hawaii ID.

(Pu'ulu Lapa'au, Hawai'i Program for Healthcare Professionals) The mission of Puulu Lapaau, the Hawaii Program for Healthcare Professionals, is to promote patient safety and care by improving the health, well-being and effectiveness of healthcare professionals. We achieve this by offering confidential support and advocacy to healthcare professionals with potential conditions including substance use disorders, mental or physical illness, work-life imbalance and behavioral concerns. We also help determine fitness to practice and practice re-entry.

(PPA) The Partnership for Prescription Assistance brings together America’s pharmaceutical companies, doctors, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public or private program that’s right for them. Its mission is to increase awareness of patient assistance programs and boost enrollment of those who are eligible. It is a service available by phone and web site that acts like a clearinghouse, checking all known discount or free services to try and meet prescription needs by eligible callers or web inquirers.
