United Way of America is the national organization dedicated to leading the United Way movement in making a measurable impact in every community in America. The United Way movement includes approximately 1,400 community-based United Way organizations. Each is independent, separately incorporated and governed by local volunteers.

Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

Ulupono Family Strengthening Program provides family support, referrals, and resources to families on Oahu and Maui from birth to 17 years old to promote positive parenting and healthy child development.

(Maui Second Circuit Self Help Center Hoapili Hale) The Maui Court Self-Help Center will provide legal help to the community on a pilot basis. Volunteer attorneys from the Maui County Bar Association will provide limited legal information by telephone in areas such as landlord-tenant, family, and other district court matters. Access by telephone for Molokai, Lanai and Hana residents only when the center is open. The Center does not accept voice messages. Court Navigators for Lanaʻi, Maui, and Molokaʻi are now available by email In 2018, an in-person Volunteer Court Navigator Program was established in the Second Circuit (Maui County). Volunteer Court Navigators assisted unrepresented individuals at Hoapili Hale by answering questions concerning court resources, locations, and procedures. Note: Volunteer Court Navigators cannot provide legal advice or representation. The Volunteer Court Navigator Program has expanded to include services by email. Unrepresented persons can now submit requests for information to: [email protected] The Navigators will make every effort to respond to requests for information pertaining to cases in the Second Circuit (Lanaʻi, Maui, Molokaʻi) within one business day, although it may sometimes take longer to obtain the information necessary to respond to requests for information.

Reducing harm, promoting health, creating wellness, and fighting stigma in Hawai'i and the Pacific. The Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center serves Hawai'i communities by reducing the harm and fighting the stigma of HIV, hepatitis, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and poverty in our community. We focus our efforts on those disproportionately affected by social determinants of health, including but not limited to: people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, substance use, and the transgender, LGBQ and the Native Hawaiian communities. We foster health, wellness, and systemic change in Hawai'i and the Pacific through care services, advocacy, training, prevention, education, and capacity building.

Offers and provides a comprehensive program of educational, health, and social services to income or categorically-eligible children and families in order to promote school readiness. -Early Head Start - provides prenatal support services to expectant mothers and their families, as well as educational services for children zero to three years of age through islandwide home-based home visiting. -Head Start - provides preschool educational services to children three to five years-old through center and home-based options islandwide. Parents are the key to success in Head Start and Early Head Start. As members of the Parent Committees and Head Start Policy Council, parents help decide how the program is operated. Parents are invited to volunteer in all phases of the Head Start program at any time.

(Alaka'i Na Keiki) Alakai Na Keiki provides children, youth and adults with psychological and substance abuse assessments, sex abuse, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as individual and group therapy.

(Adaptive Aids, Canines and Advocacy for the Blind) Guide Dogs of Hawaii provides guide dogs, mobility aids, organization and methods instructions, graduate follow-up and other services to Hawaii residents who are blind or visually impaired.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. Coalition for a Drug-Free Hawaii is dedicated to serving Hawaii’s children, families, and communities with aloha and programs that strengthen health, wellness, and resilience against substance misuse through awareness, education, and action. Programs include: after-school/in-school evidence-based programs for youth; youth leadership development; family strengthening workshops; youth and family counseling services; training and capacity building with communities; the Hawaii Prevention & Treatment Resource Center which offers substance use prevention, treatment, and related educational materials and resources to the general public; the Hawaii Pacific Center for Excellence providing training for the workforce in the field of substance abuse prevention, treatment, health, and wellness; and TeenLink Hawaii, a teen resource for information on critical health and social issues impacting youth.

Hawaii School for the Deaf and Blind assesses and prescribes educational services for children with hearing and visual impairments, i.e., audio, speech, language, provides educational and medical screening and consultation, offers form facilities for qualified neighbor-island students, and transition services are provided to students as they prepare for post- secondary education and/or employment.
