Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, sports and games, music and dance, and seasonal events. Registration dates and program period information is published in one of the newspapers the week before registration.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. (Hawaii Childrens Discovery Center) Offers a "world-class" educational facility which provides families with a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow together. The center is filled with "state-of-the-art" hands-on, interactive exhibits which encourage visitors to learn through play. The exhibits are designed to stimulate children's curiosity and to promote the concept of "life-long learning". Four major galleries full of exhibits provide a stimulating and educational experience for the young and "young at heart" to experience and enjoy. Volunteers are welcomed and training is provided. Accepts volunteers who are at least 17 years of age and able to stand and move throughout the exhibit galleries.

We are an educational membership program providing noncredit, college-level offerings designed to serve older adults’ continuing social, developmental and intellectual needs. A $60 Term Membership in OLLI entitles an individual to enroll in up to three courses or workshops and attend free special events on a space-available basis during that term. We have three semesters a year, Fall, Spring and Summer. No requirements for membership other than a desire to learn.

(HI HELPS) Provides access to the enrollment process via smartphone, iPad, laptop, desktop, zoom call, standard phone call or referral to community health centers for walk-ins. Uses a needs assessment tool to determine appropriate health insurance option, including retiree/federal or veteran insurance as well as marketplace, medicare and medicaid solutions. Guides consumers through the healthcare.gov marketplace eligibility and application process using a direct enrollment pathway. The system reduces need for complicated identity verification modules and allows the enrollee or a marketplace assister select a plan and enroll in under 15 minutes. Reviews eligibility information and enrollment forms to help individuals who may qualify for medicare, medicare savings programs and/or medicaid programs. Refers individuals to appropriate state or federal agencies for issues that require investigation and follow up. Compares plan benefits, pricing, deductibles and services that are not covered. Uploads required documents to facilitate marketplace enrollments. Monitors enrollments for acceptance, premium payments and issuance of member identification cards. Assists with cancellation of the marketplace plan if no longer needed. Trains team of community certified application assisters and monitors annual recertification and credentials. Ensures all activities are compliant and meet federal and state regulations including protected health information mandates. Develops and distributes outreach materials to community health centers, food bank distribution locations, and other venues where the newly unemployed utilize resources available due to the pandemic. No face to face contact needed to enroll and those that qualify for Medicaid will be contacted by Medicaid with eligibility results and/or approval. Health premium subsidy based on household income. There is a 60 day window beginning the day coverage is lost to qualify for the special enrollment period.

Provides visitor services at Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. Also provides free marine education programs for groups visiting the Bay. Offers free event (alternating film and lecture series focused on marine issues of interest to the community) every Thursday evening at Hanauma Bay.

Serves the low-income, underprivileged, disabled and the elderly by designing, administering and mobilizing programs and resources so that the underprivileged may gain confidence, knowledge and independence. Operates multi-programs under departments: Mediation, Group Homes, Elderly and Nutrition Services, and Homeless and Health services. Uses volunteers extensively in the elderly program. Also administers one time grants for persons in need.

(YWCA of Kauai Sexual Assault Treatment Program) Offers confidential crisis intervention counseling and support services for rape victims. Will accompany victims to hospital for examination, or to police for reporting, and to court if prosecution takes place. Provides speakers to schools and organizations, public education on sexual assault and harassment. Offers counseling and support services for children who have been sexually abused or molested by non-family members. Provides confidential group and individual counseling for adults molested as children.

(Hawaii Agricultural Statistics Branch) Conducts surveys and makes estimates of state agricultural production and value. Compiles data by county and state. Distributes statistics to farmers, farm organizations, government officials, related agencies and agri-businesses.
