Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. Women referred into the program are able to take part in the following programs: Suiting: A personal shopper assists each woman with a complete outfit for her job interview. When available, we also provide accessories such as shoes, jewelry, a hand bag and makeup. Our goal is for her to leave Dress for Success with a complete outfit that will help her feel confident in her interview and land a job. Once she gets a job, we invite her to return to receive additional apparel to mix and match for up to a week's worth of clothing. RISE!: This job readiness training program for women meets once a week on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to noon. Classes will address and aid in eliminating the frustrating obstacles that may arise during a search for employment. Four eight week cohorts are held during the year.

(Domestic Abuse Shelters and Transitional Apartments - Oahu) Domestic Abuse Shelters provide a safe haven for those fleeing domestic violence. Program accepts abused partners and their children. A 24 hour hotline is available for referrals and resource information. The Domestic Abuse Shelters (DAS) offers up to 120 days of a safe haven, basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plans, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. The shelters offer: -Domestic violence crisis hotline -Lodging and food -Crisis counseling -Individual counseling -Educational workshops -Support groups -Information, referral & advocacy -Children's program -Assistance with obtaining a TRO, Housing and financial aid -Volunteer program

North Shore Mental Health provides services to clients in adult behavioral and mental health. Programs include: Community Based Case Management, PAB, ADAD, and our Leahi medical respite program.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Kokua Kalihi Valley (KKV) is a community organization with the mission for "healing and reconciliation in the Kalihi Valley community". KKV serves residents in Kalihi Valley a Medically Underserved Area and Health Personnel Shortage Area, as designated by the Public Health Service. Services include: dental, medical, family planning, WIC nutrition, behavioral health, elderly services, elderly exercise classes, youth development, case management, transportation, translation, case management and outreach, sewing program and Micronesian women's group.
