Enforcement and licensing of all liquor licensees in the City & County of Honolulu, island of Oahu. (Note: We do not have jurisdiction on military bases.) Hearings are usually held every Thursday at 4:00 pm, for our Commissioners to rule on the following, including but not limited to: preliminary and public hearings to approve/deny new license applicants, temporary extensions, renovations, special licenses, and violations of the liquor rules and or laws.

Ala Kuola provides assistance to persons affected by domestic violence in obtaining temporary restraining orders (TRO's) against the perpetrator. The TRO acts as a legal "shield" to protect the victim from further abuse. Ala Kuola services include: -Screening requests to ensure the petition for the TRO is within the purview of the Family Court. -Providing intake services on a one-to-one basis to ensure the safety and confidentiality of the petitioner. -Providing technical assistance to the petitioner to ensure relevant information is included in all TRO documents. -On hearing dates, Ala Kuola staff will act as an impartial court assistant between parties to expedite the hearing process. -The Ala Kuola court assistant will also draft various court orders, and the service of the orders on the involved parties. -Transmittal of all court orders to the Honolulu Police Department's Records Division for filing.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. The National Human Trafficking Hotline is a national, toll-free hotline, available to answer calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. The Hotline is a program of Polaris, a non-profit, non-governmental organization working exclusively on the issue of human trafficking. We are not a government entity, law enforcement or an immigration authority.

Basic dental hygiene and other optional procedures are rendered based on clinical and professional judgment of students and faculty. Basic procedures include oral examination and charting, scaling and polishing of teeth, and patient education. Since this part of the dental hygiene curriculum is to provide teaching-learning experiences, the Department reserves the right to select patients and the type of procedures to be rendered; and to refuse individuals who do not meet the teaching criteria. It should be emphasized that full dental service is not available and service is limited to procedures in dental hygiene.

(West Hawaii Processing Center - Ka'u) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. (EAP) Offers short-term mental health services including counseling for family, relationship and workplace issues. Provides substance abuse counseling, assessment, and referrals; critical incident debriefings following workplace trauma; trainings in selected areas; management consults for troubled employees and other workplace issues.

(LSV-H) Legal Services for Veterans (LSV) offers free legal aid to homeless, and at-risk United States Veterans. Early Intervention Services are for children from birth to age three who have developmental concerns and focuses on improving the physical, cognitive, communicative, adaptive, social and emotional development of the child. As parents are the child’s first teachers, services are provided through one primary early intervention professional using parent coaching strategies. In addition, the program helps families by providing information, demonstrations and support to caregivers that helps them better understand their children’s developmental needs and how to meet them. Care coordination is available to help families utilize resources at home and in the community. Support Plans are developed in partnership with the family and service team that build on strengths and priorities of the family. Issues permits to sell and use restricted pesticides. Monitors pesticide use through field inspections of applicators and market surveillance. Investigates pesticide misuse and complaints.

Two main programs make up the foundation of Abilities Unlimited - the Medicaid Waiver Program and the Employment Program: -Medicaid Waiver Program serves individuals with disabilities referred by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division, offering personal assistance/habilitation services, adult day health services, and employment services for medicaid waiver clients. -Employment Program serves clients referred by the State of Hawaii Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), assisting individuals with disabilities and other barriers to gain and maintain employment.
