Scholarships are given as a reimbursement for the tuition of college-level courses in early childhood education, for Professional and Career Education for Early Childhood (PACE) classes taken if converted to college credits, or for direct assessment fees in obtaining a Child Development Association (CDA) certificate. Scholarships are available for anyone who successfully completes the above (Fiscal year basis & based on availability of funds). Provides information on Advance Care Planning to help people who may be facing serious illness and their loved ones prepare for decisions they may need to make as a person's illness progresses. Provides information on advance directives and is Hawaii's clearing house for POLST (Providers Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment)a portable medical order for people with advance illness. Provides professional and public education, advocacy and public policy, referrals and resources on palliative and hospice care, and leadership for statewide palliative and end-of-life care initiatives. The "Let's Talk Story" Program will go to community groups, churches and temples and provide free training.

Activities include: 1. In-school science and math support for middle school students and teachers through curriculum training and supplement, tutoring, teaching, and mentoring; 2. After school hands-on STEM and Hawaiian cultural experiences, increasing student knowledge of STEM content as aligned to the common core math and next generation science standards; and 3. Regulates the manufacture, importation, sale and consumption of intoxicating liquors. Oversees liquor license applications. Hears and determines all complaints regarding violations of the liquor control laws of the state, or complaints regarding violations of rules and regulations established by the Liquor Commission. Imposes fines or punishment as may be provided by law. Adopts rules and regulations which have the effect of laws in the county. Enforces the provisions of the liquor laws. Grants, renews or refuses applications for liquor licenses. After an establishment has a liquor license, Commission investigators make periodic checks at the establishment. (Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

WIN is committed to guiding women and teens towards sobriety, self-esteem and responsibility through our warm, nurturing and holistic approach. We help our clients develop positive life skills they need to become independent and productive members of our community. We do everything we can to break the generational cycle of hopelessness and abuse. WIN gives preference for admission of pregnant women in our housing and treatment program.

Our primary goal is to effectively resolve the crisis and help clients regain stability. We offer a secure and therapeutic environment for adults aged 18 years old or older, providing support for up to 14 days.

Welcomes and accepts volunteers (including high school students, college students, working adults and senior retirees). Volunteers assist Health System employees with acute care, long-term care and geriatric care. Duties range from clerical support to companionship activities within nursing home residents or patient assistance at the medical center. Volunteers also participate in hospital tours for visitors. Volunteers are accepted year round. Upon acceptance into the program, volunteers attend a general orientation given by the supervisor of their assigned department. Most volunteers work one to two times a week and a minimum of three hours a shift. Weekends are available.
