Provides complete eye examinations, including glaucoma screening and other disease assessment. Prescribes and dispenses fashion eyewear and contact lenses. Refers clients to ophthalmologist as needed.

Plans and is responsible for bikeways, pedestrian accomodations, and ADA compliance on State highways.

Catholic Charities Hawaii operates a residential program for adult pregnant women who are without resources, such as a safe, secure place to live, and emotional support from family or others. Mary Jane Program - Residential Services provides residential, educational, counseling, advocacy and other supportive services to pregnant women facing an unplanned, crisis pregnancy. Specifically, the program provides expectant mothers with education on child birth, infant care, and life skills. This program provides women with a healthy and safe place to live while they develop skills needed to increase their level of independence and self-sufficiency. Women may enter the program at any point of their pregnancy and when parenting, may remain in the program up to four months after infant is born; if infant is placed for adoption, the mother may remain for up to six weeks. Follow up services are offered after residents complete the program.

Promotes interest in good theater. Provides members with practical experience in the interpretation and production of quality plays. Presents a variety of entertainment/productions by youth and adults for the public and schools. Supports SILENT YOUTH (mime and dance groups).

Supports fishing throughout the state. Promotes ecology and conservation, education.

The Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5 acre botanical garden operated by the University of Hawaii. Offers tours, classes and workshops. The Arboretum's Micropropagation Lab and Seed Storage Lab both work to save Hawaii's rare and endangered plants. The Arboretum's Ethnobotanical and Hawaiian gardens are amongst the state's largest collection of cultural and native plants and help to maintain the cultural and natural heritage of Hawaii. Volunteers are needed for public tours, school tours, garden maintenance, trail maintenance, in the labs and visitor's center.

Lunalilo Home is currently is licensed for 42 residents by the State of Hawaii Department of Health for Adult Residential Care Home (ARCH), Type II, and up to 20% of the beds for Expanded ARCH or EARCH, Type II. Residents of Lunalilo Home receive 24-hour supervised care and supportive services in an ohana (family) setting. Lunalilo Home is a private organization that is not funded by any state or federal programs. We do not directly bill Medicare or Medicaid for any of the services we provide; however, our residents may utilize Medicare and Medicaid as well as other health insurance for their medical needs. In recent years, Lunalilo Home has added elderly services including Adult Day Care, Respite Care, Meals-to-Go and Caregiver Support programs. In the coming years, Lunalilo Home plans to further enhance its services and facilities to increase its impact in the community and preserve the legacy of our kupuna and the Hawaiian people. A late fee of $250 will be assessed per 30 days outstanding.

(Donation campaign) Hawaiian Council launched Kakoo Mai, a coordinated effort to deliver immediate relief and ongoing support to those affected by this disaster. Kakoo Mai is a donation campaign to aid communities and individuals impacted by the floods and weather events beginning in March 2026. Funding will support evolving needs, including providing housing stability services, financial assistance, and other services to support impacted communities. Donations will be matched. Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

Provides psychosocial rehabilitative services which assist individuals to develop daily and community living skills. Teaches clients to set goals for themselves, learn problem solving, handle social relationships. Utilizes self-help group experiences and pre-vocational services including educational and recreational activities. Arranges for linkages with vocational programs and job placement services for people with severe mental illness.

(Employees Retirement System - Liaison) Acts as liaison for Employee's Retirement System questions. Handles Health Fund assistance to State and County retirees. Acts as Employees' Retirement System counselor and liaison for all State or County employees and retirees.

Kalihi Union Church provides a community outreach that includes food ministry.

(MAT) Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America's (PhRMA) Medicine Assistance Tool (MAT) is a search engine designed to help patients, caregivers and health care providers learn more about the resources available through the various biopharmaceutical industry programs. MAT is focused on connecting patients to prescription assistance programs and is a search engine for many of the patient assistance resources that the biopharmaceutical industry offers.

Offers tutoring, reading, and math workshops, computer lab, game room and playground activities, snack and appropriate movies.

Regulates utility and transportation companies. Receives and investigates complaints regarding services provided by the regulated entities.

Trust Administration - Estate Settlement, Conservatorship and Agent for Trustee

(LMPC) The Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center (LMPC) provides social, recreational, educational, cultural and health activities with the overall goal of helping seniors remain independent and preventing premature institutionalization. Classes in Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Cribbage and other board games, Dance (Chinese, Hula, Korean, Yui Buyo) , Digital Technology, Gardening, Guitar, Hanafuda, Japanese Calligraphy, Line Dancing, Mah Jong, Pickleball, Ping Pong, Language Classes (ASL, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish), Sewing, Stretch and Tone, Tai Chi, Taisho Koto, Yoga, and many more classes. A variety of cultural clubs meet weekly. Opportunities for community service, obtaining new skills, health improvement, continuing education for seniors and access to other services.

Offers rewards of up to $1000 to tipster who give information that leads to arrest or indictment of persons committing crimes or for the recovery of stolen property. All calls are confidential. Different unsolved crimes will be publicized in paper or television. Also accepts information on missing persons.

The Relocation Program provides services to inbound and outbound soldiers and family members about resources that are needed to make informed decisions and to reduce problems that occur due to frequent moves. Services include relocation planning, pre-arrival information, welcome packet, newcomer's orientation, island tour and immigration informational workshops. Additionally, a lending closet is available with basic household items which are loaned at no charge to soldiers and family members in transition.
