Educates service members veterans and their families to cope with mental health and addiction issues. Administered by veterans who themselves have been consumers of VA mental-health services. Vet 2 Vet provides a 6 week, peer-facilitator training program. Hawaii Vet 2 Vet Inc assists service members veterans and their families to get the services that they are entitled to from the Veterans Health and Benefits Administration (aka VHA and VBA).

Provides opportunities and manages facilities for non-organized, outdoor, aquatic recreational activities such as sportfishing, underwater photography and studying aquatic life. Operates and stocks freshwater public fishing areas on Hawaii, Kauai and Oahu. Shoreline Fishery Management monitors accidental introduction of foreign aquatic species. Develops and manages statewide system of artificial reefs to enhance sportfishing species.

(BEST, MEO BEST) Serves presently and formerly incarcerated men and women to make a successful transition from prison back to the Maui community. The primary goal is to provide supportive services so that individuals do not return to incarceration. Employment assistance, job training assistance, housing placement assistance, mentor matching, cultural activities, and family reunification services are provided.

(Ohana Connections Program) The core beliefs of the program are: all children entering foster care have the right to know and connect with their family, a right to learn about their family history, a right to maintain their family relationships, and a right to belong to a family, community, and place. Like all children, they deserve to feel stable, secure, and loved. The ‘Ohana Connections Program, working in conjunction with the ‘Ohana Finding Program, finds and engages the foster youth’s family members and other kinship family, and then helps nurture and support those renewed family connections. The time it takes for `Ohana Connections to be completed varies in length for each family, but all efforts work toward the goal of the program: to help families reweave their family cloth so every foster child has relationships that can last for a lifetime. (Domestic Abuse Shelters and Transitional Apartments - Oahu) Domestic Abuse Shelters provide a safe haven for those fleeing domestic violence. Program accepts abused partners and their children. A 24 hour hotline is available for referrals and resource information. The Domestic Abuse Shelters (DAS) offers up to 120 days of a safe haven, basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plans, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. The shelters offer: -Domestic violence crisis hotline -Lodging and food -Crisis counseling -Individual counseling -Educational workshops -Support groups -Information, referral & advocacy -Children's program -Assistance with obtaining a TRO, Housing and financial aid -Volunteer program

Offers classes on weight management, and smoking cessation. Teaches aerobics. Offers programs on coping with cancer, diabetes, and hypertension (high blood pressure). Provides one-on-one consultations on smoking cessation and nutrition.

(Workers Compensation) Receives and administers claims under three different federal workers compensation laws: Longshore and Harbor Compensation Act (covers maritime employees other than seamen); Defense Base Act (covers employees of federal contractors); Non-appropriated Fund Instrumentalities Act (Covers employees of military entities which generate own funds, such as exchanges, open messes and various recreational activities).

(Kau Family Health and Dental Center) Provides general family medical care including treatment for illnesses and minor injuries and behavioral health services. Offers physical exams, family planning services including birth control information. Routine dental care, call for details.

Collects and distributes child support funds in all new divorce and paternity cases, newly modified orders, as well as those cases handled in the past. Legally establishes the identity of the father of children born out of wedlock. Obtains court and administrative orders for child support which are enforceable against parents who have a duty to provide support. Locates parents who are not complying with existing child support orders and enforces payment through wage assignment, income tax refund intercept and other legal means. Our parenting curriculum promotes safe and nurturing parenting and access to resources about healthy child development.
