(EHCY, Homeless Concerns Office) State of Hawaii Department of Education's Youth Education Stability Project provides resources for homeless families. Families who find themselves grappling with homelessness have rights under the McKinney-Vento Act to ensure their children continue uninterrupted access to education and services. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Kaiser Permanente is offering critical mental health and addiction services and resources. Members do not need a referral to access behavioral health care at Kaiser Permanente. (KGAR) A 1.2 mile (untimed) fun run for youth ages 12 and under at Ala Moana Beach Park. Annually, the event raises over $20,000 dollars to support participating public and private elementary schools’ PE, health education and physical activity programs. For as school to participate and qualify for a donation, a minimum of 10 participants per school must register to be eligible for a donation. The last Keiki Great Aloha Run was on Saturday, March 26, 2022 as a 1.5 mile virtual race. Participants

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration. Also accepts birds that the public drops off for West Nile testing.

Spill The Tea Cafe (STTC) offers a range of services, including individual and group therapy, mentorship, care coordination, and psychoeducation, to address the specific needs and preferences of each teen. We also extend our support to families and caregivers, providing community resources and referrals to help them navigate the challenges of mental health, and achieve lasting recovery and resilience for their youth. These items are received by the local offices by donations from others and through our TLC Catalog. Support Groups: The office is a clearinghouse of information on local self-help and support groups that provide emotional and educational help. Relay For Life: You are invited to attend Relay For Life, our annual event to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and give everyone the opportunity to fight back against cancer. Provides job search and placement services including assessment counseling, and referrals. Provides labor and market information. Cooperates with agencies involved with federal and state job training programs. Refers clients to job training programs. Provides resume writing services.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Access Line, Suicide Line, Suicide Prevention Line, Hawaii CARES) Formerly known as the ACCESS Line, the Crisis Line of Hawaii is a warm-line operating 24 hours, 7 days a week. Provides mental health treatment services to person with serious, persistent mental illness, person in severe acute mental health crisis, person experiencing stress from disasters.
