Chamber Music Hawaii’s innovative education programs are designed to inspire, engage, and meet the needs of not only our local music directors and students, but all of our community members near and far. Each year, CMH’s three resident ensembles reach over 3,500 students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members on all six major Hawaiian Islands, through the help of generous grant support. Our curated online modules and in-person sessions are flexible and adaptable; our most common clinic formats are: “Chamber Chats” Presentation / Demonstration In this highly requested format, the ensemble members share about their individual instruments, perform musical demonstrations, and engage with the students/audience on certain talking points within the music. Topics covered can include solid tone productions, proper posture, working as a group, etc. This style of clinic allows for a great amount of versatility so that we can present topics relative to those participating. Side-by-side This format highlights the joy and energy of performing music together between artists and students. Each member of the ensemble sits in a specific section in the band or orchestra and plays along with the students. This allows the students to interact with our artists through the music being rehearsed and provides a quick and intense learning environment. It is a highly effective way to teach the students how to communicate through music. Sectional and Individual Coaching Impactful learning is especially effective in one-on-one arrangements. Sometimes a band or orchestra director would like individual artists of the chamber ensemble to help specific instrumental sections work on the music the class is preparing. One-on-one coachings are also offered in cases where a student may need a little extra assistance, or where a student could benefit from more advanced tutoring. The participants from 33 program sites receive a day filled with activities and excitement with a positive message on staying “Drug Free”. Participants learn the important values in self-esteem, nature lessons, social enhancement skills, utilizing creativity, teamwork and the importance of Staying Drug Free. Topics also include anti-gang violence and anti-bullying.

PATCH, Hawaii's Child Care Resource and Referral Agency, supports those with childcare needs. PATCH provides referrals to licensed child care across the state, information on how to identify and choose quality child care, and resources to support the family, such as subsidy programs and services available in the community. In addition, the Child Care Recruitment Project offers support and guidance to individuals who are interested in opening their own childcare business. (HCHP, CBCM-RS, Community Based Case Management- Recovery Services, Ohana Project Services, Shelter Plus Care) Health Care for the Homeless Project (HCHP) is offered at our Kaaahi street clinic and Kohou street clinic. The Kaaahi street clinic is at the Institute for Human Services (IHS) Homeless Shelter for Women and Families. Primary Care health services are provided to single women and families who are guests of the IHS Homeless Shelter, single men, and community members: Including adult medicine, chronic disease management, immunizations and flu shots, infant and well-child check ups, physical examinations, psychiatric counseling and medication management for adults, and women’s health.

Maintains research library which contains 19th and early 20th century materials on Hawaii and the Pacific. Provides information and reference services regarding Hawaiian history and Hawaii's historical agencies. Publishes the Hawaiian Journal of History, newsletters, limited edition books.

(West Hawaii Processing Center - Ka'u) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. The mission of Children’s Services is to ensure that children and adolescents who have significant behavioral, emotional and mental health needs and their families receive the services they need for success in home, community and throughout life.

Provides protective services to abused, neglected, or financially exploited dependent adults, 18 years and older. Takes action, with client consent, to prevent further abuse from occurring. May involve placement into adult day care centers, residential care homes, chore services, and/or counseling and other supportive services to adults.

(Pediatric Oncology Parent Support) Hawaii Children's Cancer Foundation (HCCF) provides a wide range of services and programs for Hawaii families who have a child diagnosed with cancer, including financial assistance, support groups, social events, education and advocacy. HCCF offers financial assistance for medical, housing, and transportation expenses during treatment.

Parents And Children Together (PACT) provides a confidential facility available around the clock for survivors and their children in crisis. Services include safety planning, case management, and referrals to legal, medical, financial, and housing assistance. If you are in an abusive relationship with your spouse or partner, call the Domestic Violence Shelter Access and Crisis Line. A staff member will speak with you over the phone to see how we can best help you and provide resources that are available through our shelter program or another agency.
