The program provides job training, placement, and case management services for individuals receiving VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) assistance.

Organized in 1979, the Hawaii Pacific Gerontological Society (HPGS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of Hawaii’s older adults. We promote the understanding of the aging process, supportive services, and legislation that help people age with dignity and grace. It is the largest voluntary, multidisciplinary group in the State committed to dialogue and discussion, networking and information sharing on issues and policies affecting older adults in this geographical area. Currently, more than 400 older adults, caregivers, gerontology educators, medical and social service practitioners, health care providers, agency personnel and organizations from all sectors of the community make up the membership. Members can attend the meetings held three times a year.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana and Kentucky offers in-person and telehealth care for abortion, birth control, emergency contraception, vasectomy, gender-affirming services, HIV testing, pregnancy testing, prenatal and postpartum services, STD testing and treatment, pap smears, vaccines, screening and treatment of minor gynecological problems like UTIs, wellness and preventive care, substance use support and referrals, unhealthy relationship support and referrals, and education and counseling.

Interprets Hawaiian ethnobotany and conserves Hawaiian traditions relating to horticultural practices and land use. Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

(Food Pantry) The Honolulu Fil-Am Seventh Day Adventist Church provides a food pantry for persons who have low-income or have no income. For food pantry help outside of the normal pantry hours please call for an appointment.
