(Homeownership Education and Coaching Program - Kona Office) The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center's (HHOC) lifetime membership prepares buyers for the home purchase through classes and individual coaching. Classes address the general concepts about preparing for homeownership and the buying process; individual coaching provides support to identify buying resources and creating an action plan to become mortgage ready. Support after our members become homeowners is available through workshops and confidential meetings. Office is located in the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union, Koloko Branch - 73-5611 Olowalu Street, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. Office hours are limited to branch hours of operations. As we only have one staff person at this satellite location, please call ahead for an appointment.

The Academy for Healthcare Innovation (AHI) Surgical Technologist Program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, preparing you to play a critical role in ensuring patient safety and the success of surgical procedures. You will be an essential part of the surgical team with in-depth training in surgical procedures, techniques for maintaining a sterile environment and the intricacies of surgery. You will also learn infection prevention protocols, ensuring the smooth operation of surgical departments and contributing to the highest standards of patient care. During the 40 week program, you will learn how to: -Prepare the operating room environment, ensuring a sterile field for surgical procedures -Handle surgical instruments -Assist surgeons during operations -Anticipate the needs of the surgical team

(VLA) The VLA project focuses on disabled and elderly veterans and family members who are residents of the state of Hawaii and who want assistance with filing benefits claims with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Also offers referrals to volunteer attorneys through VLSH's pro bono program for legal advice and direct services for: Family Law, Tenant Rights, Collections and Bankruptcy, Estate Planning/Probate, Re-Employment and Community Service Program (Oahu only).

(PPP) Parent Participation Programs (PPP) meets twice a week at different communities around Oahu. The goal of PPP is to support parents as their child’s first teacher. Hawaiian values such as Aloha (love), Malama (Care), Kuleana (Responsibility) and Laulima (Many Hands) are some of the daily values practiced in class. Learning centers are set up to support hands-on learning and encourage parent/child interactions. Our hope is keiki will: Develop the skills, knowledge and experiences for life and learning; Develop a strong sense of self, ‘ohana and where they come from; Recognize and practice Hawaiian language and culture. This program helps makua: Recognize how to become advocates for their keiki; Engage in safe, healthy practices for keiki well-being; Recognize and practice Hawaiian language and culture. Our Cancer Rehabilitation Program (CRP) is a comprehensive program that provides outpatient rehabilitation to cancer patients and survivors. Whether newly diagnosed or finished with treatment, we can help decrease pain and enable individuals to safely and effectively regain independence. Our goal is to help patients love their life as they did before cancer. For those who want to increase their independence and fulfill rehab goals, the CRP may be the right path. Patients work with a team of cancer rehabilitation specialists, including physical therapists and exercise physiologists, to create a program tailored specifically towards improving quality of life.

Hawaii Rx Card is a FREE prescription assistance program that is available to all citizens of Hawaii. The program was launched to help the uninsured, but it can also be used to discount drugs not covered by health insurance. There are no applications, fees, resrtictions, or eligibility requirements. Keiki Steps is a Hawaiian Culture-Based Family-Child Interactive Learning Preschool established to meet the school readiness needs of young children and their families through increasing through participation in a high-quality early education program that is culturally grounded, standards-based, and literacy-and-numeracy focused.
