Honolulu Habitat for Humanity helps families build, purchase or repair their own homes. Families work alongside volunteers. The programs are financed through Honolulu Habitat's low to no interest mortgage program. Builds and renovates homes using volunteer labor and donated materials, at no profit and no interest. Homeowners repay the cost over a fixed time period; payments are recycled to build more homes. It requires homeowners to participate in construction as well as help other prospective homeowners build theirs. The Hawaii Interim Housing Program (HIHP) has closed applications for the housing program. For those persons needing post disaster housing assistance, please contact your Disaster Case Manager (DCM) or Outreach Care Navigator (OCN) with the Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP). Ka Lai Ola is a temporary housing development that is located in West Lahaina within walking distance of Lahaina Civic Center. It will house 1,500 wildfire survivors until 2029. Ka Lai Ola will contain approximately 450 modular residential units, including a combination of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes for independent living with full kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.

(KIPC, Car Seat and Booster Seat Safety, CPS) Keiki Injury Prevention Coalition (KIPC) provides a network of Car Seat Inspection Stations, technicians, and instructors certified in caregiver education on correct child restraint use and installation. KIPC provides appointments at Inspection Stations and conducts car seat checks at community events on Oahu. KIPC also provides standardized certification training for new technicians, and updates for those currently certified.
