Chamber Music Hawaii’s innovative education programs are designed to inspire, engage, and meet the needs of not only our local music directors and students, but all of our community members near and far. Each year, CMH’s three resident ensembles reach over 3,500 students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members on all six major Hawaiian Islands, through the help of generous grant support. Our curated online modules and in-person sessions are flexible and adaptable; our most common clinic formats are: “Chamber Chats” Presentation / Demonstration In this highly requested format, the ensemble members share about their individual instruments, perform musical demonstrations, and engage with the students/audience on certain talking points within the music. Topics covered can include solid tone productions, proper posture, working as a group, etc. This style of clinic allows for a great amount of versatility so that we can present topics relative to those participating. Side-by-side This format highlights the joy and energy of performing music together between artists and students. Each member of the ensemble sits in a specific section in the band or orchestra and plays along with the students. This allows the students to interact with our artists through the music being rehearsed and provides a quick and intense learning environment. It is a highly effective way to teach the students how to communicate through music. Sectional and Individual Coaching Impactful learning is especially effective in one-on-one arrangements. Sometimes a band or orchestra director would like individual artists of the chamber ensemble to help specific instrumental sections work on the music the class is preparing. One-on-one coachings are also offered in cases where a student may need a little extra assistance, or where a student could benefit from more advanced tutoring. Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. Military OneSource is a Department of Defense-funded program that’s both a 24/7/365 call center and a website providing comprehensive information, resources and assistance on every aspect of military life—all at no cost to the user. Military OneSource provides information and referral on a wide range of topics including deployment, reintegration, financial, relationship issues, grief, spouse employment and education, and parenting and life skills. All calls to the call center are answered live by a master’s-level consultant. A central service provided by Military OneSource is confidential non-medical counseling. Non-medical counseling is available for up to 12 sessions, per person, per issue and is intended to prevent the development or exacerbation of lifestyle conditions that may compromise military and family readiness. Sessions are available in-person, by telephone, secure online chat and video.

Imua Autism Services works with children up to 6 years old using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is an evidence-based, therapy that focuses on improving social skills, communication and human behavior and is an effective method to help children with autism and other developmental disabilities learn the skills they need to move forward. Imua Family Services understand that each child learns differently. Our goal is to provide an interactive, fun, play-based learning program. We take a collaborative approach incorporating family members and caregivers to develop a comprehensive plan. We work to personalize educational programs for both the child and parents using interviews, observations and natural environment assessments. Imua Family Services also provides ABA services through our Therapeutic Preschool and Kindergarten Readiness Program.

Early Head Start (EHS) provides comprehensive services for families prenatal until the child is 3 years old. Maui Famiy Support Services (MFSS EHS) promotes early childhood education and development by using evidence based curriculum that promotes healthy development and "school readiness" goals. MFSS EHS program focused on family strengths while building and sustaining goals to promote healthy living. MFSS EHS provides both center based option and also weekly Home Visiting services. All Early Head Start services are free of charge for families who meet the eligibility criteria.

Our Child Protection Center (CPC) is the state leader in identifying, treating and helping children and families recover from child abuse. Founded in 1969 in collaboration with the State of Hawaii, the CPC has been helping Hawaii’s children for over 45 years. We take a multidisciplinary approach to care and prevention, treating the child and his or her family. We also educate and train professionals in all disciplines, from doctors and nurses to social workers and law enforcement professionals. We welcome bereaved children and teens (3 years old - 18 years old) for free peer support groups (not therapy). Keiki and teens who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, ohana member, or close friend are eligible. Grief support services provided include peer-to-peer support groups in the schools and the community, children's bereavement awareness education, group facilitation training, and care package program.
