Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church provides a food sack to participants who are in need of food, 1 bag per adult. Emergency requests are answered as soon as we find out about it, or when the person is referred to us by social agency as well as our own congregation each Sunday. Beach dwellers and families in multiple family situations are helped with food as soon as we are notified. We also provide used clothing, sheets, blankets, and towels when these items are available.

(St Francis Adult Day Center) We provide a secure environment that is ideal for aging loved ones who cannot remain at home alone during the day, cannot perform all the activities of daily living but do not need 24/7 professional care, need social stimulation to prevent loneliness or depression, or need assistance with walking. Our adult day care programs offer a range of supervised activities in an uplifting, positive environment to enhance the quality of life for Hawaii’s seniors. Adult day care provides a way for seniors to remain at home as they age. They can enjoy the company of other seniors in a secure, nurturing environment. This allows family members to work during the day with peace of mind, knowing their loved one is in good hands. We provide intellectual stimulation, physical exercise, camaraderie with other seniors, and much more. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. (Maui Economic Opportunity Youth Bank, MEO Youth Bank) The MEO YOUTH SERVICES offers an After-School/Out of School Positive Youth Development Programming service. The programming activities allows youths in the 6th grade through high school age (up to 18 years old) to acquire the attitudes, competencies, values, and social skills that is necessary to carry them forward to successful adulthood. MEO Youth Services also assists the youths/young adults with skills to avoid choices and behaviors that will limit their future potential. The program focuses on Life & Career Skills development through culturally based, outdoor experiential activities, and meaningful Service Learning opportunities. MEO YOUTH SERVICES provides in-school prevention programs.

(Orchestral Music Education for Youth, HYSA) The Hawaii Youth Symphony advances critical and positive links between music study, academic achievement, and social emotional development with programs that service youth through orchestral music education, performance opportunities, and community engagement. HYS envisions a Hawaii where every young person can experience the timeless value of music, learn to play a musical instrument, or otherwise embrace a lifelong appreciation for musical learning. During the academic year, HYS operates three full-symphonic orchestras and four string orchestras, instructing students who range in ability from absolute beginners to very experienced. Education and performance are key elements of the HYS curriculum. (Domestic Violence Advocacy) Families who are enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Temporary Assistance to Other Needy Families (more commonly known as “welfare”), are required to be engaged in activities that will ultimately lead them to self-sufficiency. Program recipients for whom issues of safety and domestic violence are interfering with their progress can call upon Domestic Violence Advocacy to help them find support to change their situations. Services include: assessment, service planning, counseling services, case management and linkage and referral.

(Therapeutic Crisis Homes) The Therapeutic Crisis Homes (TCH) program provides youth the opportunity to stabilize with trained TCH parents who provide them with support and guidance they need to return to their families safely. Services are offered to each youth based on his/her individual needs. Youth are provided with individual counseling and family counseling with the ultimate goal of reunification with their families within 3 to 7 days. Crisis Home Parents provide a safe environment for youth ages 5 years old - 17 years old to stabilize their emotional and physical situation in time of crisis. Services included support, guidance and individual as well as family counseling to stabilize the situation so that youth can reunite with their families within 3-7 days. Trained staff professionals also help to develop an after-care plan for families and referrals to public and private follow-up services.
