(PPP) Parent Participation Programs (PPP) meets twice a week at different communities around Oahu. The goal of PPP is to support parents as their child’s first teacher. Hawaiian values such as Aloha (love), Malama (Care), Kuleana (Responsibility) and Laulima (Many Hands) are some of the daily values practiced in class. Learning centers are set up to support hands-on learning and encourage parent/child interactions. Our hope is keiki will: Develop the skills, knowledge and experiences for life and learning; Develop a strong sense of self, ‘ohana and where they come from; Recognize and practice Hawaiian language and culture. (HCAP Administration) Honolulu Community Action Program, Inc. (HCAP) offers a variety of programs and services designed to help Oahu's low-income individuals and families to achieve self-reliance. Programs include Head Start, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), food assistance, employment services, after-school STEM, and individualized case management. HCAP also promotes community development and advocacy through resident advisory councils and private-public volunteer opportunities. Volunteers are encouraged to contact HCAP for opportunities to help children, youth and adults in need.

(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention - Central, LIHEAP ECI, ECI) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) Energy Crisis Intervention (ECI) is designed to help families keep their utilities (gas or electric) on, especially those households that are most vulnerable, such as the elderly, the disabled, and households with young children. H-HEAP primarily assists households by applying an energy assistance grant directly to the energy provider on behalf of the eligible household. Applications are accepted year-round. The Hawaii Council on Economic Education's (HCEE) mission is to increase the economic literacy of Hawaii's students, teachers and residents. HCEE implements its mission by promoting and improving the teaching of economic concepts in Hawaii's public and private schools through conducting teacher training programs and providing grade level K-12 appropriate teaching materials. Currently, it is not required that students in Hawaii complete a course in economics or personal finance prior to graduating from high school. This may not sound like it has negative consequences, however consider that students from states where a financial education course is required have the highest reported financial knowledge and are more likely to display positive financial behaviors. Pacific Whale Foundation's mission is to protect our oceans through science and advocacy. Conducts scientific research of ocean, coral reefs and marine mammals. Applies research findings to preserve natural marine habitats and animals. Provides public education, encourages community participation through lectures, school visits, natural history cruises, snorkeling trips and whale watching cruises. Offers internships for interested researchers who apply. Manages Adopt-a-Whale and Adopt-a-Spinner Dolphin program allowing interested citizens to receive information on the movements and developments of a specific whale. Operates Pacific Whale Foundation's Eco-Adventure, a for-profit subsidiary.

Roots Reborn provides extensive legal support to the immigrant community in Maui through pro bono and low bono services and partnership with experienced immigration attorneys. This includes document replacement, legal representation for complex cases, and advocacy against policies that threaten immigrant rights. We also host Know Your Rights trainings, aimed at empowering our community through education of their constitutional rights, regardless of immigration status.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance.
