(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. (ELR) Early Learning Readiness (ELR) for Family, Friend and Neighbor Caregivers is a research-based community program that gives young children (not in facility-based childcare), high-quality physical, emotional and cognitive experiences. It also equips their teacher, ensuring they start kindergarten ready to learn. The program provides a stimulating, preschool-like experience through learning centers that foster young child development and improve school readiness, while also supporting and developing the skills and knowledge of caregivers. Early Learning Readiness - services are provided at the Aliamanu Military Reservation for the Pearl Harbor locations.

(Homeownership Education and Coaching Program - Kona Office) The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center's (HHOC) lifetime membership prepares buyers for the home purchase through classes and individual coaching. Classes address the general concepts about preparing for homeownership and the buying process; individual coaching provides support to identify buying resources and creating an action plan to become mortgage ready. Support after our members become homeowners is available through workshops and confidential meetings. Office is located in the Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union, Koloko Branch - 73-5611 Olowalu Street, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. Office hours are limited to branch hours of operations. As we only have one staff person at this satellite location, please call ahead for an appointment.

(Temporary Disability Insurance, TDI) Enforces labor laws relating to workers compensation (wage replacement benefits, medical or hospital care for work-related illness or injury), temporary disability insurance (wage replacement benefits for non-work-related illness or injury), and prepaid health care (medical or hospital care for non-work-related illness or injury).

(AHED, AHED Foundation) Affordable Housing and Economic Development Foundation (AHED) functions primarily as a funding organization that secures affordable housing and economic opportunity grants, loans or other funding and partners with affordable housing developers and service providers to provide affordable housing and economic opportunities to residents in need. We work to create, develop, and preserve low-income housing. We also support programs that provide job training, childcare services, and economic development. We do this by securing private and public loans and grants to fund affordable housing development. We then partner with housing developers and service providers to provide affordable housing.

We provide rapid rehousing assistance, prevention assistance, and TANF Eligible Family Assistance

The Maui Strong program delivers bagged groceries and essential supplies to kupuna who were displaced or otherwise impacted by the Maui wildfires. Deliveries are made directly to their homes by volunteer drivers. For safety and privacy, drivers do not enter the kupuna’s homes. In addition to home deliveries, the program provides care navigation services to help connect kupuna with resources and support. We also offer transportation services for those who need transportation to medical appointments or essential errands.

Waikiki Health’s full-service Pharmacies, located at Ohua Clinic in Waikiki and Makahiki Clinic in McCully-Moiliili, provide prescription and over-the-counter medications.

(Immigrant Services Resource Center - Hawaii Island, Immigrant Services - Employment and Resource Center) Goodwill Industries of Hawaii Immigrant Services Resource Center provides acculturation services, financial literacy training, access to community resources such as housing, legal and advocacy services. (SHEG) A one time, not ongoing financial assistance for households who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Single, couples and families. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

(Crime Stoppers) Provides law enforcement, criminal investigation and crime prevention. Investigates accidents and provides traffic control. Registers firearms. Accepts information on missing persons. HPD does not handle driver's licensing or motor vehicle registration, abandoned vehicles or safety inspections (these are provided by Department of Finance, Motor Vehicle & Licensing Division).
