(The Actors Group) The Actors' Group (TAG) is a small but active Community Theatre. Our seating capacity is 55 to 60 seats. We are located in the Dole Cannery Square Mall. We produce 6 to 7 plays each season (September through August) These are all straight plays, we do not do musicals because our theater is so small. Everyone at TAG is a volunteer. And we are always looking for volunteers to help in every aspect of the theater.

(Society for Konas Education and Art) Offers Kona schools a "menu" of art (performing, literary & visual) activities for teachers. Works with the teachers to expand upon curriculum themes. Sponsors a youth group to advise on youth programs. Offers art workshops for adults & children and special events such as concerts and ho'olaulea. Art Camps for Children and Magic Camp during the October school break.

(ELR) Early Learning Readiness (ELR) for Family, Friend and Neighbor Caregivers is a research-based community program that gives young children (not in facility-based childcare), high-quality physical, emotional and cognitive experiences. It also equips their teacher, ensuring they start kindergarten ready to learn. The program provides a stimulating, preschool-like experience through learning centers that foster young child development and improve school readiness, while also supporting and developing the skills and knowledge of caregivers. Early Learning Readiness - services are provided at the Aliamanu Military Reservation for the Pearl Harbor locations.

Operates voluntary reassurance and notification service, whereby the letter carrier will be alerted to an accumulation of mail which might indicate a person's inability to pick up mail because of a sudden illness or accident. Places a decal inside the registrant's mailbox as a signal to the letter carrier that occupant is participating in this program. Reports an accumulation of mail directly to Elderly Affairs Division/Senior I&A Program for follow-up.

(EFNEP) Assists families with limited income to plan low-cost, simple, healthy meals. Teaches families to shop wisely, stretch their dollars and resources, and keep foods safe. Meets with homemakers in small groups or individually in the family's home or at community sites.

(Community-Based Mentoring Program) Case Managers at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii work with parents, guardians, therapists, counselors, schools, and youth serving organizations to identify and pair under-resourced youth from ages 6 years old and older with one-on-one mentors. Case Managers create an outcome development plan in collaboration with the parent/guardian, child and volunteer. Plans are updated yearly. Youth and their mentors meet 2-3 times per month for a few hours each outing. Outings are selected by the youth. Mentors pick-up their mentees and are responsible for transportation and other costs they incur. Some of the costs are offset by sponsored activities and discounts at partnering companies.

Issues camping and use permits for state parks system. Plans, acquires, develops and maintains state park lands.

Provides an array of family skill building, child abuse and neglect prevention services within the Kalihi. Both Centers offer information and referral. Both Family Centers focus on parents, school and community involvement to work together to improve academic achievement for children. The Center also offers opportunities to prevent homelessness, promote literacy and English language skills, and build employment skills through volunteer opportunities. Families and individuals may use the Computer Technology Centers to access their email and internet, type or print documents. (Hawaii Relief Program) Vibrant Hawaii is helping people to complete the Hawaii Relief Program applications. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources. Water expense may include sewer service fees. Payments are made directly to landlords, mortgage lenders, or utility providers. The Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA Hawaii) provides year-round education and workforce training through its Construction Training Center of the Pacific. Our programs are designed to meet the evolving needs of Hawaii’s construction industry, offering practical, certification-based training for both new entrants and experienced professionals. Current offerings include: OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 construction safety training; CPR, First Aid, and AED (in-person and hybrid options); Forklift, Aerial Lift, and Equipment Operation; Supervisor Leadership Training; Specialized safety courses including Fall Protection, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Silica Awareness, and more; NAHB courses in estimating, scheduling, marketing, business management, and risk mitigation; USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management training. Courses are taught by certified instructors with direct jobsite experience. This ensures that training is grounded in real-world applications and meets industry standards. Certifications earned through BIA programs help workers maintain compliance, improve safety, and enhance job readiness.

(LITFP) The Low Income Transit Fare Program (LITFP) provides a discounted transit fare for income qualifying individuals. Applications accepted on a first come, first served basis. The LITFP program runs on the City and County of Honolulu's fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th), so clients will need to reapply ever fiscal year. The HOLO card may be prepaid or reloaded on a monthly basis. Do no apply if you a person with Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
