Emergency Agricultural Loan for Those Impacted By COVID-19

Eligible farmers may now apply for emergency loans of up to $150,000 at 3 percent interest. Loans of $100,000 or less will not require credit denials from other financial institutions. The [Hawai'i Board of Agriculture] also waived the three-year residency requirements normally required for agricultural loans, and authorized state loan officers to modify or waive collateral requirements, as deemed necessary, on a case-by-case basis. Loan applications for emergency loans relating to COVID-19 will be accepted until Dec. 31, 2020. Besides emergency loans, HDOA also offers micro-loans for those needing loans of $25,000 or less. Micro-loans involve less paperwork and swifter processing. In addition, current agricultural loan holders who are suffering financially due to COVID-19 may also request payment relief or forbearance.

The State of Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) Vital Records provides a waiver for the fee for the first copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate for residents with an address in an impacted area who can attest to being impacted by the Kona Low Storms. Question: Will DOH accept temporary driver’s licenses and state ID cards from applicants ordering replacement vital records? Answer: YES, temporary driver’s licenses and state ID cards are acceptable. Question: Are there alternative documents that can be used to order a birth, death, or marriage certificate if all government-issued IDs are missing? Answer: Have a relative order the vital record with their valid ID. For all other questions, please call the Vital Records hotline or email [email protected]. Follow the steps outlined below to request the waiver for the fee or see the website, https://health.hawaii.gov/konalowstorm/files/2026/03/Kona-Low-Storms-Vital-Records.pdf.
