Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. VASH relies heavily on donations and community support. When needed resources are not readily available, we will make requests and network with other agencies to try and meet needs. (ATV, Alternatives to Violence) Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. Youth Services groups are offered in both East and West Hawaii to both boys and girls ages 12 years old - 17 years old who are deemed perpetrators of harm. The focus of this group is to offer tools for reducing impulsive behaviors, improving self esteem and increasing the level of social competence as well as addressing the dynamics of adolescent victimization. The Youth Service groups are 20 weeks long and group is once per week; however, times and days of group may vary by location.

Food donations are accepted at Hale Kau Kau. Hale Kau Kau program serves dinner meals on-site to those who do not have the resources for basic food. Hale Kau Kau delivers dinner meals every day to homebound persons (seniors, people with disabilities, etc.)

(Family Center and Immigrant Resource Center, Family and Economic Opportunity Center, C-BASED program, Competency-BASED Community School Diploma Program, Competency BASED Community School Diploma Program) The Economic Opportunity Center (EOC) provides workforce development, job readiness training, and financial literacy training for families and individuals who are underemployed or unemployed. EOC helps clients develop their potential, provides technical assistance, and assists in removing personal barriers to employment through one-on-one coaching. EOC partners with local employers to provide pipelines to employment for underserved workers.

Reopening September 1, 2022, the Honolulu Museum of Art School offers courses in ceramics, printmaking, metalsmithing, textiles, drawing and painting, and a General Survey Art Exploration class. Curriculum is designed for a wide range of abilities, experiences, and expertise. Fall 2022 registration opens online and in-person on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 10am. (Easter Seals Kailua Early Intervention Program, Kailua Early Intervention Program) Easterseals Hawaii provides individualized early intervention services to children under 3 with or at risk for developmental delays and their families. Services include: Development of an Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP); Parent coaching and family support; Developmental evaluations; Resources, information, and referral services; Assistance to families in transition planning for their child’s transition into the Department of Education special education, Head Start or preschool. Treatment Focus Areas: Cognitive; Language and Communication; Physical; Development; Social and Emotional; Adaptive/Self Care. Program focuses on building a support team for the family and assisting them in meeting challenges via parent coaching and building a foundation of tools and strategies that parents need to support their child’s growth and participation in their community.

The Kauai Independent Food Bank (KIFB) provides food to the needy on the island making food and products available to agency partner distributions sites. KIFB serves homeless, elderly, children and those experiencing temporary emergencies. KIFB also has a vocational rehabilitation program, operates Keiki Cafe and a Backpack Program as well as provides nutrition education assistance. KIFB makes referrals for food to the public (individuals needing food). Referrals are made to the 50 distribution sites throughout Kauai and specifically non-profit member agencies and churches on Kauai.

(BHOF) Provides a variety of educational programs and services to patients, their families and health professionals, including: written information on the prevention, detection, and treatment of osteoporosis; a website that is regularly updated with the latest information on bone health and osteoporosis; a patient information service; professional educational materials; and assistance in establishing and maintaining support groups. Works to increase public awareness of osteoporosis through prevention programs and campaigns, public policy forums and grassroots efforts.

Provides loans and loan guarantee for existing homes, construction of new homes and repairs. Provides loans for community facilities and loan guarantee for eligible rural businesses. Offers home repair grants to senior citizens.

Assists Chinese speaking immigrants to discover and obtain community resources and services. Provides assistance in completing application forms for food stamps, Quest Medical Housing, HeadStart/Open Doors and others. Services include notary public and general referral.

Kokua in Kind handles vehicle donations (automobiles, trucks, vans, motorcycles and boats) for non-profit charities. We currently provide services to over 100 Hawaii non-profit organizations. (HCAP STEM) The Ha Initiative: Creative STEM After-School Program is a free Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) after-school program for youth in grades 2-8. The program provides year-round tutoring, mentorship, and fun STEM activities in a safe after-school setting at five STEM Exploration Center locations on Oʻahu.
