(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Military OneSource provides information and referral on a wide range of topics including deployment, reintegration, financial, relationship issues, grief, spouse employment and education, and parenting and life skills. All calls to the call center are answered live by a master’s-level consultant. A central service provided by Military OneSource is confidential non-medical counseling. Non-medical counseling is available for up to 12 sessions, per person, per issue and is intended to prevent the development or exacerbation of lifestyle conditions that may compromise military and family readiness. Transitional Family Care for youth 5 - 17 years of age with emotional and/or behavioral disturbances, Hale Kipa's Therapeutic Foster Care Program provides community-based services within a family home setting. The 3-9 month program is often a "step-down" from hospitalization or a residential setting and can be helpful in transitioning youth from a higher level of care to successful integration into the community.

(AHED, AHED Foundation) Affordable Housing and Economic Development Foundation (AHED) functions primarily as a funding organization that secures affordable housing and economic opportunity grants, loans or other funding and partners with affordable housing developers and service providers to provide affordable housing and economic opportunities to residents in need. We work to create, develop, and preserve low-income housing. We also support programs that provide job training, childcare services, and economic development. We do this by securing private and public loans and grants to fund affordable housing development. We then partner with housing developers and service providers to provide affordable housing.

Administers low cost, outpatient medical clinic which provides care for acute illness or injury as well as physical exams and immunizations for adults and children, assistance with health insurance applications. Provides family planning services and women's health care. Offers AIDS/HIV counseling. Operates a dental clinic, including pediatric care. Provides nutritional counseling for diabetics, pregnant women, and persons with high blood pressure or heart disease. Administers WIC (Women, Infants, Children) Program which provides supplemental food to pregnant, post partum, and breastfeeding women and children up to age five. Also offers programs on smoking cessation and relapse prevention to promote smoke free families. Basic dental hygiene and other optional procedures are rendered based on clinical and professional judgment of students and faculty. Basic procedures include oral examination and charting, scaling and polishing of teeth, and patient education. Since this part of the dental hygiene curriculum is to provide teaching-learning experiences, the Department reserves the right to select patients and the type of procedures to be rendered; and to refuse individuals who do not meet the teaching criteria. It should be emphasized that full dental service is not available and service is limited to procedures in dental hygiene.
