(Easter Seals Hawaii Kauai Home and Community Based Services) At Easterseals Hawaii, we offer a comprehensive set of services for adults with disabilities and their families. We work to empower our clients to become more independent and participate fully in the communities where they live, work, and play. Services are delivered with dignity, passion, and the ultimate goal of self-determination. Program focus areas are enhancing independence, person-centered planning, social skills and enrichments, community integration and access, employment skills, personal care, and daily living skills. Adult Home and Community-based Services include group and individual services; employment services, Adult Day Health (ADH), Community Learning Service (CLS), Community Learning Service-Individual (CLS-I) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism and down syndrome.

Provides community programs such as: awards system, ride along, tours, law enforcement, neighborhood watch programs, speakers bureau, operation ID and police/military relations. Also provides (upon request) Keiki ID cards at special events and/or schools (does not provide ID cards on an individual basis).

Helping Hands Hawaii is helping to collect donations to distribute to persons affected by the Kona Low on March 2026. We are currently accepting new/unopened donations of essential household and personal care items, including: -Hygiene items and feminine products -Diapers and pull-ups (all sizes) and wipes -Phone chargers and portable battery banks -Laundry detergent and dish soap -Shoes and boots -Towels and bedding (including blankets) -Cookware, dishware, and utensils -Gift cards for flexible support At this time, larger furniture items are not needed, as many affected areas are still in the cleanup phase following the storm. Partner With Us as a Collection Site Community businesses and organizations can play a direct role in Kona low recovery efforts by serving as a donation collection site. By hosting a drive, you can help gather essential items and make it easier for your employees, customers, or community members to contribute. (SHEG) A one time, not ongoing financial assistance for households who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Single, couples and families. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

Grants wishes to children 2 1/2 to 18 years of age with life-threatening medical conditions. Accepts referrals and volunteers.

(Food Bank) Hawaii Foodbank operates two AIB-certified warehouses on Oahu and Kauai where we receive, inspect, sort, store and distribute food to our communities. Food is sourced from manufacturers, growers, retailers, wholesalers, Feeding America, individual and corporate food drives and federal commodities where our staff and volunteers prepare these items for safe and efficient distribution through our partnership of more than 200 agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, domestic abuse shelters and rehabilitation centers. Food distribution is also through food pantries in local communities and the Ohana Produce Plus program, which provides fresh produce and assorted groceries to anyone in need while supplies last. To become a food partner agency, organizations must be a publicly supported 501(c)(3) and meet Hawaii Foodbank and Feeding America requirements. (Kaneohe - Food for Families) The Armed Services YMCA Marketplace provides no-cost food assistance. Please visit one of the locations listed below during business hours. Call to visit outside of the normal business hours.

Offers multipurpose senior programs and congregate meals. Serves as a focal point for service delivery and presentations by other agencies.

Administers refuse collection, road maintenance, cesspool pumping. Maintains Kaunakakai Flood Control facility; Hoolehua Veteran's, Kapaakea and Ualapue cemeteries.

Through public-private partnerships, Malama Maui Nui stretches government dollars further by gaining the in-kind support of local businesses and volunteers to malama aina in Maui Nui. Projects include marine debris cleanups, coral reef outreach & education, invasive plant control, native outplanting, illegal dumpsite clearing, litter pickups, graffiti cleanup, recycling, community paint exchange, and environmental education. Ongoing volunteer opportunities are available in Kihei at our Laie Wetland Restoration Project, in Kahului at Kanaha Beach Park, and at various community.

Hawaii District Health Offices (DHO) serves the community with proficiencies in emergency preparedness, family health services, public health nursing, services for the developmentally delayed, environmental health services which includes vector control, clean air, clean water, and sanitation programs, vital statistics (births, marriages, deaths), and mental health services. Provides temporary assistance and information for residents of the Island of Hawaii who have tested positive for COVID-19 and cannot safely self-quarantine or self-isolate at home. Supervises adult felons and some misdemeanants who are placed on probation, supervises deferred acceptance of guilty pleas or conditional discharges. Supervises interstate felon or misdemeanant probationers.

Provides social service and health program for Native Hawaiians aged 60 and older. Serves lunch meal each day. Offers friendly visiting, telephone reassurance and referrals to other community agencies.

Analyzes soil and plant tissue, diagnoses plant diseases, identifies insects, and analyzes feed. Assists with crop recommendations. Provides information and recommendations on backyard and garden weeds. Provides plant insect control advice. Accepts reports of plant disease problems.

(SSO) Department of Education Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Program provides meals free of charge at participating public schools for children 1 year old - 18 years old June 9, 2026 - July 17, 2026. Children do not need to be enrolled in public school to participate. Schools will serve breakfast 7:15 am - 8:45 am and lunches from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. There will be no meal service on the June 11, 2026 (Kamehameha Day) and July 3, 2026 (Independence Day observed) state holidays. All meals must be eaten on campus; no grab-and-go options are available. Children do not have to be enrolled at a participating school to be served, and meals will consist of solid foods. (DUA) --The deadline for filing DUA is June 15, 2026, which is 60 days from the disaster declaration date. Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered untimely, and DUA benefits may be denied unless the individual provides good cause for late filing.-- Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is available for eligible unemployed employees, self-employed individuals, farmers, and fishermen engaged in business at the time of the disaster. Eligibility for DUA benefits is determined on a week-to-week basis for each week a claim is filed. Eligible individuals may receive DUA benefits beginning the week of March 15, 2026, through the week ending October 10, 2026. A certified Patient Navigator provides personal hands-on support and direction to patients going through cancer treatment. The Patient Navigator can provide direction and referrals to resources, help patient's find financial assistance, help patient's formulate their thoughts for doctor's appointments, and help patient's coordinate their care between the many separate clinics/physicians/labs/imaging facilities located in Maui County and beyond. Kaiser Permanente is offering critical mental health and addiction services and resources. Members do not need a referral to access behavioral health care at Kaiser Permanente. Provides outpatient individual, family and group counseling, psychiatric care, and chemical dependency treatment services. Educates pet owners on the need to make provisions for the care of animals that may outlive them. Gives guidelines on how to make arrangements such as finding a guardian who will care for the pet after the original owner dies, what needs to be included in the pet owner's will and estate plans, how to leave money to fund that pet's life-long care, and information pet owners can gather that will be used to help ease their pet's transition to a new home.
