(NHL) The Alu Like's Native Hawaiian Library is at the Nanakuli office. Its purpose is to provide library and information services to Native Hawaiians and others interested in the history, culture, and contributions of Native Hawaiians. In addition to library and literacy services, the library leads the effort to preserve Hawaiian language documents through our Hawaiian Language Legacy Program (HLLP).

Presentation are given to 4th grade students at their schools concerning endangered species and conservation. Touch-see exhibits of animal bio facts are shared with students.

Basic dental hygiene and other optional procedures are rendered based on clinical and professional judgment of students and faculty. Basic procedures include oral examination and charting, scaling and polishing of teeth, and patient education. (MEO) Maui Economic Opportunity provides case management that includes developing an individual service plan, budget preparation, financial literacy, and other counseling. Clients may receive up to six months of rental assistance on a sliding scale, with the maximum rent of $3,000 per month.

Provides pre-hospital emergency medical and ambulance services at the Advanced Life Support Level to all residents and visitors on Molokai. Transports patient to airport when needed. Offers blood pressure testing, speakers bureau, ambulance demonstrations and standby service for special events.

(LSV-H) Legal Services for Veterans (LSV) offers free legal aid to homeless, and at-risk United States Veterans. Legal Services provided under the LSV Program include: -Housing: Landlord-tenant issues, foreclosure -Family: Custody, child support, Temporary Restraining Orders (TRO’s) -Criminal Defense: Outstanding warrants, driver’s license issues -Matters symptomatic of homelessness

Olivet Baptist Church distributes food to those that are in need.

Handles complaints for RICO concerning regulated vocations and professions. Complaints about unfair/deceptive business practices are also handled for the Office of Consumer Protection. Acts as referral agency for consumers with questions and complaints. Administers the State Certified Arbitration Program that settles lemon law disputes. The Hawaii “Lemon Law” helps consumers who buy or lease new motor vehicles and have repeated problems in getting their vehicles repaired under the manufacturer’s warranty. Provides basic information regarding business entities, professional and vocational license status, and complaints history on licensed professionals and merchants/businesses. (ECS, Nā Lima Hana Employment Core Services - Leeward District) The Na Lima Hana Employment Core Services program provides employment preparation training, personalized case management services, tuition assistance for vocational training, and job placement for unemployed and underemployed individuals. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks.
