Feeding Pets of the Homeless assists with emergency veterinary care for pets whose owners are experiencing homelessness. All new requests for assistance are now submitted through our online application: https://petsofthehomeless.org/emergency-veterinary-care/ Applications are reviewed Monday–Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (PST), excluding holidays. If you have limited access to the internet, many public libraries, shelters, and resource centers offer free computer or mobile access. A trusted advocate or case worker may also assist you in completing the application. If approved, we will provide instructions for scheduling care with a participating veterinary clinic. You contribute what you are able to at the appointment, and we help cover the remaining eligible costs. Important: Services may be declined based on eligibility criteria, missed appointments, service limitations, specific procedures, or funding availability. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Provides rental subsidies (through the Housing Choice Voucher Program) to very low income families. Under the Housing Voucher Program, the maximum subsidy is primarily based on an applicable payment standard less 30% of the family's monthly adjusted income, but no less than $50; the family pays the balance of the rent.
