KHP is a non-profit substance misuse treatment and recovery support Center with a focus on Native Hawaiian cultural values. Provides Outpatient treatment and support services for Molokai residents in early recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions. Also provides 12-step meetings and faith-based recovery support meetings. Provides urine analysis (UA) Testing for youth up to age 18 and adults. Able to provide alcohol and other drugs (AOD) assessments for driving under the influence (DUI) or treatment appropriateness for a fee. KHP has programs for Pregnant and/or parenting Women with children who want to engage in outpatient treatment. Also, persons with a co-occurring mental health diagnosis and a substance use disorder can join dual diagnosis treatment groups. KHP has an emergency food pantry open on Tue and Thurs after 12:30pm. Assistance to send a participant to residential treatment off island (if funds permit) Ka Hale Pomaika’i offers their office as a Recovery Community Center serving as a forum for support such as 12-step meetings, Ohana gatherings and learning circles with Kupuna. All services that KHP offers are conducted with a focus on Native Hawaiian traditions and values.

Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

Program provides support through socialization, conversation, friendship and companionship. Spending time with a home-bound senior or person with disabilities promotes independence, reduces isolation, and improves quality of life. The Friendly Visitor Volunteer visits or calls on a regular basis to build a positive relationship that conveys warmth and caring.

(Womens Outpatient Clinic) Operates an outpatient clinic offering comprehensive medical, obstetrical and gynecological care. Offers family planning services, pregnancy testing, prenatal and high risk prenatal care, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, dietary counseling, urgent care, teen clinic, Endocrine clinic and various clinic procedures.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. Hawaii District Health Offices (DHO) serves the community with proficiencies in emergency preparedness, family health services, public health nursing, services for the developmentally delayed, environmental health services which includes vector control, clean air, clean water, and sanitation programs, vital statistics (births, marriages, deaths), and mental health services. Provides temporary assistance and information for residents of the Island of Hawaii who have tested positive for COVID-19 and cannot safely self-quarantine or self-isolate at home. Responsible for fire protection, rescue, HazMat, emergency medical response and ocean rescue services. Provides fire prevention education. Dispatches fire fighters and rescue squad personnel for emergencies. Issues firework permits. Blood pressure screening is offered at all Kauai Fire Stations except at the Kauai Fire Department administration office.

Maintains a national information center for those affected by anxiety disorders, including Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social anxiety Disorder, and specific phobias. Provides referrals to local treatment providers and local support groups, and provides information on these and related disorders. Publishes an E-Newsletter, Triumph, and detailed pamphlets. Promotes public awareness and education with media campaigns and events. Sponsors an annual conference to encourage researchers in the field of anxiety disorders to share their findings, and funds research.

Our Brain Injury Program provides acute rehabilitation for patients who have sustained traumatic brain injury. We provide a comprehensive and individualized plan using an interdisciplinary team approach, working closely with patients and their families/caregivers to address specific needs and goals. Our patient-centered care model is focused on patients to maximize their potential. The REHAB staff also includes Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS) who have the expertise and knowledge to work with special needs following a brain injury. We help patients schedule a follow-up appointment with their physicians in our Physicians Clinic so they can continue their rehabilitation therapy in our outpatient NeuroTrauma Recovery Program (NTRP). The NTRP is designed for patients recovering from a traumatic brain injury and provides comprehensive rehabilitation assessment and service for impairments in cognitive, psychosocial and physical abilities due to a traumatic brain injury. Caregivers and family members are provided with a three-hour Caregiver Education and Training (CET) prior to discharge, meeting with each member of the interdisciplinary care team to get hands-on training.

Provides comprehensive services to persons in acute mental health crisis or who are suffering from a serious mental illness. Provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment, counseling and psychotherapy, case management, crisis intervention, and psychosocial rehabilitation.

Inspects plants and animals arriving from Foreign area to prevent spread of undesirable pests and diseases. Enforces federal regulations governing the movement of agricultural items to the United States mainland.

The course guides individuals in the development of a realistic, achievable plan for a business. It is helpful for prospective entrepreneurs as well as existing small business owners.

Kauai Crime Stoppers allows members of the public to remain anonymous while providing the police with vital information to get criminals off the streets.

Provides counseling and treatment program for teenagers regarding school dropout prevention, gang involvement and drug abuse available through several middle and high schools.
