Kuikahi Mediation Center provides a variety of dispute prevention and resolution services to our East Hawaii community. We help individuals, families, organizations, businesses, schools, and others to find creative solutions to challenging situations.

The Maui Dance Council (MDC) was founded in 1978 and holds the mission to: Enliven the community and the classroom by inspiring, cultivating and supporting the artist in everyone. MDC cultivates the performing and creative arts in Maui County through: the Chance To Dance public school movement arts education program, professional development training for classroom teachers, community classes and Master workshops, and by advocating for the arts locally and nationally. Chance To Dance is a Standards based arts education program designed to stimulate the students’ imagination and original thinking through dance and music. By integrating dance and music with classroom curriculum, Chance To Dance helps children develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while self-expression and creativity are encouraged and fostered at a critical age.

Conducts professional development training and provides ongoing technical assistance to increase capacity and sustainability of youth-serving organizations. Creates, coordinates and sustains multi-agency partnerships and collaborations. Facilitates the Hawaii Interagency State Youth Network of Care (HISYNC). Conducts needs assessment, planning, and public policy development. Current focus areas include youth homelessness, foster care, teen pregnancy and STI prevention, sexual abuse prevention. Ensures a youth voice in public policy through an annual Hawaii Children and Youth Summit.

Provides assistance for seniors and caregivers with finding the right services to assist with challenges and identifying the right support systems. Waikiki Community Center has two Senior Resource Coordinators: Trish Lowry and Crystal Antonio. Trish and Crystal are available for appointments Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 2:30 pm. Oversees the design and development of planned facilities. Monitors construction for waste water projects. Secures regulatory permits for projects. Assists the public in locating connection laterals. Operates, maintains and repairs county-owned waste water reclamation and pumping facilities.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and dance, seasonal activities and crafts, excursions and swimming. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration. Also accepts birds that the public drops off for West Nile testing (If dropping off on the weekends, go to the pool office to drop off birds).

(DHS Return to Homeland Program) Assists eligible Hawaii resident aliens and naturalized citizens in returning to their homelands outside of the United States. This service is not for temporary relocation or vacation but to permanently return to live there. Call for further information and other requirements.

When applying for a building permit in HNL Build that is for work related to the Kona low, please follow the instructions below. Please select your permit type. Note: If the type of work you are performing would normally qualify for a Quick Permit, please select Building Permit Application instead. If this first permit you are applying for that is related to the Kona low, check the “New Project” box and enter “Kona Low Rebuild” as the project name. If you are applying for additional permits, continue to use the same “Kona Low Rebuild” project each time. Do not create a new project. Step 4. Submission Page. Proceed with your application until you reach the Submission Requests page. If your project does not require formal plans, please upload photos of the property damage instead. This fulfills the system’s upload requirement and allows you to complete your submission in HNL Build. If our staff believe your project does need plans, they will contact you. Step 5. Notify DPP. After submitting your application, send an email to [email protected]. Include your application number and state that the repairs are due to the Kona Low. Prevents and suppresses outbreaks of vector-borne diseases and serious vector nuisances through inspections, surveillance, monitoring, enforcement, consultation and education in the control of harmful vermin such as insects that bite or are a public nuisance such as ants, sand flies, and other insects. Also gives public advice on small animals and insects causing a problem in or near a home or building such as mice, roaches, flies, gnats, mites, rats, and nesting birds. Offers information and advice to individuals experiencing pest problems. Accepts birds that the public drops off for West Nile testing. They no longer spray for mosquitos.

(Emergency Food Pantry) Eleele Baptist Church distributes bags of food to those that are in need on a first come, first served basis. You must call first and leave a clear message with a name and a call back phone number for emergency food. Speak slowly and clearly with little to no background noise when leaving your message and call back phone number. Emergency food pick up time and location will be discussed during the return call.

(Alaka'i Na Keiki) Alakai Na Keiki provides children, youth and adults with psychological and substance abuse assessments, sex abuse, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as individual and group therapy.

(Workers Compensation) The Hawaii WC law was enacted in 1915, and its purpose was to provide wage loss compensation and medical care to those employees who suffer a work-related injury.
