Disability and Communication Access Board reviews and assesses the problems, needs, services and resources in the State of Hawaii including, but not limited to, employment, education, social services, civil rights, public facilities, housing, vocational training, rehabilitation and recreation. The board publishes educational materials, sponsors workshops and provides technical assistance to industries/agencies, conducts research studies, advises State and County agencies on issues related to persons with disabilities, and conducts testing of sign language interpreters and issues state credential based on test results. The board administers the statewide program for parking for persons with disabilities. IGI (International Genealogical Index): A worldwide list of names and selected vital data of more than 150 million people. 3. Ancestral File: Is pedigree linked and can be grouped in families. 4. Social Security Death Index: Lists about 38 million deceased persons who had Social Security numbers, and whose deaths were reported to that administration. 5. US Military Index: Index of individuals in the United States military who died, or were declared dead, in Korea or Vietnam (1950-1975).

Provides support to anyone grieving the death of a friend or family member. Holds one-on-one sessions with staff as well as volunteer assistance offered by individuals who have experienced the grief process. Offers a six week bereavement support group which is held three times annually, providing an opportunity for healing as experiences are shared and information offered. Lanakila Teaching and Learning Centers (TLC), a program of Lanakila Pacific, assists adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities with mastering basic skills to expand their life experiences and foster a sense of independence. Focusing on each person’s individual needs, Adult Day Health programs located in Honolulu and Wahiawa offer in-house classes, community outings and recreational opportunities that can help participants build the confidence and skills needed to integrate into the community as well as engage in volunteer and pre-vocational activities. The Employment Exploration component enables participants to identify interests and explore potential integrated employment settings.

Jury trials are held in the Circuit Courts, which have general jurisdiction in civil and criminal cases. They also have exclusive jurisdiction in probate, guardianship and criminal felony cases, as well as civil cases where the contested amount exceeds $40,000. Circuit Courts share concurrent jurisdiction with District Courts in civil non-jury cases in which the amounts in controversy are between $10,000 and $40,000. Other cases heard by the Circuit Courts include mechanics' liens and misdemeanor violations transferred from the District Courts for jury trials.

Our evidence-based therapeutic models focus on family networks and relationships, school or job performance, peer connections and relationships, and community networks of support. Quality Care for Hawaiian Keiki (QCHK) is a child care subsidy program for Native Hawaiian in Maui County. QCHK goals are to help Native Hawaiian/Part Hawaiian families become more economically self sufficient as well as helping their children to become school ready. Program provides assistance to families to pay for child care, for children ages 0-13 and up to 19 years old for children with special needs. Child care includes Licensed Family Child Care Homes, Infant and Toddler Centers, Preschools, Before/After school Programs, Intercession care as well as License-Exempt providers. Provides help with child care providers in Maui County with any needs that they might have in the areas of training, health, safety and licensing.
