Hawaii Agricultural Foundation provides teacher trainings. Teacher trainings for Veggie U are island specific trainings with 1-2 trainings per year. Veggie U is a hands-on science program that empowers students to become growers in their own classrooms. Using a classroom garden kit, students plant, care for, and harvest vegetables while learning about nutrition, sustainability, and healthy eating. The program deepens appreciation for local food, encourages healthier lifestyles, and connects youth to the importance of agriculture in everyday life. Quarterly virtual check-ins provide teachers with timely updates, opportunities to discuss topics of interest, and a space to collaborate and share classroom experiences with fellow educators.

(Hawaii County Third Circuit Hale Kaulike Self Help Center) The Hilo Court Self-Help Center will provide legal help to the East Hawaii community on a pilot basis. Volunteer attorneys from the Hawaii County Bar Association will provide limited legal information by telephone in areas such as landlord-tenant, family, and other district court matters.

Silver Streaks Sunrise Walk for Seniors is organized by the Hawaii Parks and Recreation Society as an annual 1+ mile walk in the morning. 33rd Annual Silver Streaks Sunrise Walk was Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Ala Moana Regional Park, 1201 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814, USA at the Magic Island end of the parking lot. The course length was 1+ mile.

(EHCY, Homeless Concerns Office) State of Hawaii Department of Education's Youth Education Stability Project provides resources for homeless families. (SSO) Department of Education Seamless Summer Option (SSO) Program provides meals free of charge at participating public schools for children 1 year old - 18 years old June 9, 2026 - July 17, 2026. Children do not need to be enrolled in public school to participate. Schools will serve breakfast 7:15 am - 8:45 am and lunches from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. There will be no meal service on the June 11, 2026 (Kamehameha Day) and July 3, 2026 (Independence Day observed) state holidays. All meals must be eaten on campus; no grab-and-go options are available. Children do not have to be enrolled at a participating school to be served, and meals will consist of solid foods. The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Kukui Center was designed and renovated to meet the need to provide an easily identified and specialized place where abused, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families can receive the help they need. Professional and volunteer help is available elsewhere throughout our community but in many different locations. Even when needed, the follow through on referrals can be poor as parents and young adults are often overwhelmed by the demands of their daily lives. Housing a variety of services together is more user friendly for children, youth and families and will help insure they can access the strong community support that is available.
