Commodity Supplemental Food Box

(CSFP) The CSFP works to improve the health of low income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods.
Participants must complete an application, be at least 60 years of age, reside on Oahu and have an income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.
Once qualified, senior will receive a monthly food box consisting of UHT milk, juice, cereal, rice or pasta, peanut butter or beans, cheese, canned meat/poultry or fish and canned fruits and vegetables.

Landfill, Transfer Stations and Convenience Centers

The City and County of Honolulu provides 10 public refuse drop-off locations: 6 convenience centers, 3 transfer stations and 1 landfill, around the island for residents to dispose of their household rubbish. Residents may use any of these locations free of charge.
Maintains sites for disposal of ordinary household refuse. Convenience centers are reserved for residential waste material only, commercial or business refuse (from tree trimmers, roofers, plumbers, small stores, farmers, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
Provides information on disposal of other wastes such as dead animals (Animal carcasses and waste products should be taken to City landfill), demolition, construction debris, asbestos or hazardous materials.
PTSD Residential Rehabilitation Program

Offers three specialized treatments for veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Here and Now group for current life issues concentrating on providing veterans with effective coping skills and management of PTSD symptomology. Also serves as preparation for possible future more intense treatment than that offered through outpatient services. PTSD and Addictions addresses the needs of veterans suffering from PTSD and Substance Abuse. Providing veterans with the abilities to identify risk factors, prevent relapse and practice effective coping skills. Residents are required to attend AA and/or NA meetings several times a week. War Trauma Focus is designed to provide appropriate circumstances for veterans to re-experience emotional impacts of trauma, understanding recovery, accepting responsibility and coping skills are the primary emphasis.

Sexual Abuse Treatment Services - West Hawaii Island

(Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment.
Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

Starfish Mentoring Program

Ho'ola Na Pua's Starfish Mentoring Program (SMP) provides mentoring with trauma-informed care and support that addresses the unique needs of survivors of sex trafficking and those at risk. Weekly meetings are activity-based and led by extensively trained mentors aged twenty-one or older. Mentors offer support and advocacy while serving as positive role models to program participants. Referrals to the program can be made through service providers, law enforcement or family members by calling or texting 808.222.1872.
The Starfish Mentoring program does not adhere to strict hours of operation and can be available after hours as well.
Program service are community based, so they happen through the island of O'ahu.
