(I Ola, OHA Emergency Relief Fund, I Ola, OHA Emergency Relief Fund) The Hawaiian Council administers the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Emergency Relief Fund, I Ola. OHA provides up to $1,200 in one-time financial assistance to Native Hawaiian federal civilian employees of the Department of Homeland Security who are impacted by the federal government shutdown effective February 14, 2026.

(AFY) Adult Friends for Youth is a leading agency in eliminating violence and creating peace in schools and communities. Services are aimed at prevention and intervention, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, mediation, community outreach, and educational programming.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. (Peoples Open Market Administration, POM) The administrative office of the People's Open Market (POM) helps persons interested in becoming vendors at the different People's Open Markets throughout Oahu. Visit the links on the website to see the vendor application, insurance, and permitting requirements. The People's Open Market is a low cost market where farmers sell fresh produce, baked goods, and fish directly to the public. (CMP) Case management for individuals living alone with dementia.

Assistance Dogs of Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides children and adults with disabilities professionally trained dogs that will increase their independence and enhance the quality of their lives. We are committed to serving people in Hawaii with special needs through Community Outreach Programs and developing the potential dogs have to assist people in need through our Research Programs. Assistance Dogs and lifetime follow-up support are provided free of charge.

The Back-to-School Brigade is an annual nationwide campaign by Operation Homefront that collects and distributes school supplies to eligible dependents of service members. Through this assistance program, military children receive free back-to-school supplies, including backpacks, to help them start the new school year on the right foot. Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment. Includes drive-thru donation site. Accepts volunteers in position such as Retail Store Support, Personal Shopping Assistant/Store Greeter, Dressing Room Attendant and Vintage Goods Sorter.

Issues permits to sell and use restricted pesticides. Monitors pesticide use through field inspections of applicators and market surveillance. Investigates pesticide misuse and complaints.

Assists with past due metered utilities (water, electricity, gas) for older adults pending fund availability. Utilities payable to vendor only with W9 form and supporting documents to verify residence and eligibility. The utility assistance is for renters and homeowners.

(Congregate Housing Services and Meals, Kupuna Care Program) Hale Mahaolu provides home-delivered meals to frail elderly and disabled adults in Central Maui.

Operation School Bell provides new school clothing to children in schools identified as Title 1 by the Hawaii State Department of Education and school personnel. In schools with school uniforms, a school shirt is paid for by the Assistance League of Hawaii.
