Sponsored by the Dave Thomas Foundation, this unique program provides intensive social work services to find the best adoptive home for a child by exploring all facets of the child’s family, school, and friendship circles, as well as recruiting families from the broader community. Goals: • Increase the number of foster children placed with loving, adoptive or guardianship families in Hawaii • Develop supportive and warm relationships with children waiting to be adopted/legal guardianship • Provide information and resources to prospective and adoptive/guardianship parents • Increase community awareness of foster care adoption • Streamline the adoption process • Improve the quality of life for children in the permanent care of the Hawaii • State Department of Human Services by providing a “forever” family in Hawaii

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i runs an island-wide (O‘ahu only) donation pick-up service, and the reusable clothing and small household items collected are sold to Savers thrift store. While providing funding for our programs, we’re also able to help reduce the burden on the landfills as well. Donated goods are recycled rather than discarded.

(St Francis Hospice) Nationally accredited by The Joint Commission, St. Francis Hospice, the state’s first hospice program, provides compassionate care and comfort for terminally ill patients in their homes, in nursing homes, and at our inpatient facility in Nuuanu. We make each moment count, enhancing the quality of life for patients, and their families and friends. St. Francis Hospice also has one of the most advanced bereavement services programs, offering support groups, walks in shopping malls, and other activities for families who have lost a loved one. St. Francis Hospice provides a specially trained, interdisciplinary healthcare team that may include a medical director, nurse, social worker, chaplain, hospice aide, volunteer, and bereavement counselor.
