Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Works in partnership with County Early Childhood Resource Coordinator to promote coordinated early childhood education and care system for children from birth to age eight in the County of Maui. Provides phone consultations, information on early childhood related topics, and referrals to early childhood services. Child care payment subsidies are available to qualified working families, children with parents in school/job training, and retired grandparents raising their grandchildren. Also collaborates with the Department of Education in providing school readiness materials and programs.

Through counseling, workshops, presentations and support groups, clients can learn the skills necessary for successful relationships. Skills include communicating and listening, releasing the past and creating intimacy, skills of dating and parenting. Additional areas include positive psychology, self-esteem enhancement, stress management and relaxation.

Develops programs at each school based on school community and parent needs. Coordinates parent volunteers for special activities, e.g., classroom aides. Provides parent education, homework center, tutoring, literacy program, support groups, and workshops.

The learning gap between advantaged and disadvantaged children shows up as early as 9 month of age. We advocate for policies that help narrow that gap. We believe all children deserve a safe place to call home. Hawaii's lack of paid family leave forces families to choose their families during their time of need, or keep their jobs. We advocate for policies that support our families and businesses, build coalitions among non-profit organizations, create partnerships with businesses, and mobilize individuals and communities.

The Kauai Red Cross provides disaster response to those affected by disasters in Kauai County and shares critical preparedness information to the community so that people can prepare before a disaster strikes. All disaster response and disaster training are provided at no charge. Training classes such as first aid, CPR and lifeguarding are available for a fee. Provides interment/inurnment services for US military veterans, their spouses and, in certain cases, their dependent children. Provides headstones for in-ground burials and bronze niche plaques for cremated remains placed in the Columbarium. Provides information relating to the cemetery and assists visitors searching for a particular gravesite. Parents And Children Together helps families provide a safe home for their children with integrated services such as skill building, counseling, parenting classes, crisis intervention, and ohana time visits. The Army Community Services's Mobilization, Deployment and Stability Support Operations program helps support community readiness during deployments and emergencies. Helps make sure installation programs align with unit deployment cycles, provide pre- and post-deployment support, and help unit commanders with their family readiness plans and deployment support services for service members and their families. Responsible for operating an Emergency Family Assistance Center in the case of an all-hazards event, and supporting service members and families during Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and Repatriation. Acts as a case manager for all requests for assistance through the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS).

We offer school groups the opportunity to learn more about the USS Missouri’s role in three wars and as a living, historic memorial. We are proud to serve more than 17,000 students from around Hawaii in Battleship Missouri Memorial Education programs every year. Provides preservation and restoration of the USS Missouri where Japanese Forces surrendered to Allied Powers to end World War II.

(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program-Energy Crisis Intervention-Kalihi-Pala, LIHEAP ECI, ECI) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) Energy Crisis Intervention (ECI) is designed to help families keep their utilities (gas or electric) on, especially those households that are most vulnerable, such as the elderly, the disabled, and households with young children. H-HEAP primarily assists households by applying an energy assistance grant directly to the energy provider on behalf of the eligible household. Applications are accepted year-round.
