No state parks located on Lanai. Kakaako Waterfront Park is managed by Hawaii Community Development Authority. Sacred Falls State Park on Oahu remains closed since a rockslide in 1999. (Youth Build Honolulu) Provides an educational and job training program that prepares its participants for responsible citizenship. Participants are non-high school graduates, 16-24 years of age, with personal histories filled with alcohol and drug abuse, criminal activities, and limited financial resources. Is the last chance for individuals to earn a high school diploma and develop skills to prevent future incarceration, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, and long-term unemployment.

Provides information on Advance Care Planning to help people who may be facing serious illness and their loved ones prepare for decisions they may need to make as a person's illness progresses. Provides information on advance directives and is Hawaii's clearing house for POLST (Providers Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment)a portable medical order for people with advance illness. Provides professional and public education, advocacy and public policy, referrals and resources on palliative and hospice care, and leadership for statewide palliative and end-of-life care initiatives. The "Let's Talk Story" Program will go to community groups, churches and temples and provide free training.

Help families and businesses make smart energy choices to reduce energy consumption, save money, and pursue a 100% clean energy future. Energy Literacy Workshops - Provides hands-on group workshop to provide practical energy efficiency and conservation tips, workshop teaches how to reduce energy use at home and save money. Energy Smart 4 Homes Program, (ES4H Program) for multifamily properties - free program to under-served population especially if renting at an apartment building, transitional property, homeless shelter, etc. Agency surveys the property and determines what energy efficient opportunities are available, can upgrades lighting and water fixtures for FREE. Technology includes LED light bulbs, high-efficiency shower heads, advanced power strips, and high-efficiency faucet aerators for the kitchen and bathroom. Provide new energy efficient appliances like refrigerators at a steep discount to the property owner/manager, look at retrofitting the water heaters to a more energy efficient system. Hawaii Energy does not provide emergency utility bill assistance or emergency crisis intervention for disconnetion notice.

(PATCH POD Program) The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program provides families with low and moderate incomes subsidies to send their children to preschool for up to two years prior to entering kindergarten.

The investigations office for Hawaii operates a hotline to report welfare fraud, people who have unreported income and other violations, for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and general assitance program. Callers does not have to give their name. All reports are investigated.

We welcome bereaved children and teens (3 years old - 18 years old) for free peer support groups (not therapy). Keiki and teens who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, ohana member, or close friend are eligible. Grief support services provided include peer-to-peer support groups in the schools and the community, children's bereavement awareness education, group facilitation training, and care package program.
