Lift HI Foundation offers tailored training-to-good job pathways, in partnership with local employers like Hawaii Pacific Health, that make it easy for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) households to participate. We proactively recruit applicants within communities, geographic or otherwise, with high levels of ALICE households. Our training timetable is a free, full-time training program. Two-fifths of our training focuses on skills such as goal-setting, culture, communication, and managing conflict among others. We currently provide “income replacement” (equivalent to the minimum wage). We partner with employers who are engaged actively throughout training who help with all or part of technical/clinical training, opportunities to visit and shadow in a clinical setting, pre-graduation job interviews, and preferred job consideration. We also contract former graduates to assist our graduates in navigating their new jobs and life.

Distributes printed materials about Parkinson's disease. Through a national network of Information and Referral centers and chapters, sponsors support groups, lectures and conferences, exercise and other programs, and sponsors awareness and fundraising events.

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (MFCU) investigates and prosecutes provider fraud involving medical assistance programs, as well as patient abuse and neglect statewide. MFCU's jurisdiction over Medicaid Fraud consists largely of provider theft of Medicaid funds through deceptive claims made with the state Medicaid program. Some types of deceptive claims are: -claims for services not rendered -multiple claims for a single service or supply -billing at a higher rate than permitted for the service or supply provided MFCU's jurisdiction over abuse consists largely or pysical violence, neglect, and financial exploitation of dependent adults committed by Medicaid providers, care facilities, and paid caregivers. MFCU is authorized to proceed criminally and/or civilly. MFCU's jurisdiction over civil false Medicaid claims consists largely of unlawful provider activity that results in inappropriate claims from the Medicaid program.

Enforces laws related to parking, including parking meters. Issue citations for violations. Accepts reports on broken parking meters.

The Golden West Chapter hosts a number of annual activities and Community Outreach events in Hawaii. These opportunities raise ALS awareness and funding that help provide valuable care management services to people living with ALS, free of charge, and promote public policy initiatives on behalf of the ALS community in Hawaii. Services for Seniors provides case management, performs health assessments on the disabled elderly in their homes with or without a caregiver present, links to existing services in the community and assures home is safe, purchases service and/or equipment, provides respite to caregiver, and coordinates services with other agencies.

Above and Beyond Services provides non-emergency medical transportation for persons in wheelchairs and gurneys.

The Reel Camps provide a courageous and safe environment for girls (cis/trans), femmes, non-binary, gender-fluid, and gender-queer youth, as well as any other youth who identify outside of the gender binary. It is a place where they can express their creativity, boost their confidence, and embark on a journey of personal transformation. Participants learn to create and share their own stories, which are meaningful and deserve to be heard and seen.

Provides correctional care and custody of adult law offenders committed by the courts to serve sentences and arrested persons unable to make bail.

Manages small boat harbors and launch ramps. Issues boat registrations and permits for ocean recreation events such as canoe regattas, surfing and board sailing contests, and yacht races. Regulates commercial activities such as "thrillcraft" operations.

Maintains registry that lists persons on Kauai who wish to be referred for employment in the home assisting elderly persons. These individuals provide services such as: nursing care, personal care, housekeeping, escort, companionship, live-in aide and respite care. Workers listed are not employees of the Agency on Elderly Affairs.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention - Molokai, LIHEAP ECI, ECI, Energy Crisis Intervention) Assists households who are at the verge of getting their electricity/utility terminated or electricity/utility has been terminated within 60 days from the date of the application. Disconnection notice required. Applicants may apply, once per program year for one of the two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI). 48 hours processing time once application is received, $650 maximum amount per client

(Ola I Ka Hana Youth Program - Kona) Program for low-income at at-risk youth who are in or out of school. Help with building skills to obtain a High School Equivalency or GED, exploring post-secondary education, and employment exploration.

The National Safe Haven Alliance (NSHA) is a national non-profit organization that promotes safe alternatives for parents in crisis pregnancy situations in every state. The 24 hour crisis help and text line provides support and direction for parents and providers regarding the Safe Haven law, including Safe Surrender locations, adoption resources and parenting support. The National Safe Haven Alliance also can provide direct resources to assist and prevent infant abandonment. The Crisis Hotline is staffed 24 Hours by social workers, nurses, and paramedics that have received comprehensive training and are able to support and assist parents and providers. The number is a helpline and text line.
