For youth who have run away or experienced a crisis. The program is geared to help youth work out their problems and whenever possible keep the family unit intact. Family counseling is an important part of their stay. Parental consent is necessary unless the youth is referred by Child Protective Services. The Emergency Shelter Services Program is geared to help youth work out their problems while keeping the family unit intact with the help of regular family counseling. The length of stay typically ranges from 1 to 30 days and are offered in two settings, Group Shelters and Kamala Homes. There is one shelter for boys and one shelter for girls.

(Hospice Hawaii) Navian Hawaii is comprised of an interdisciplinary team of professionals and trained volunteers who meet the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families in the comfort of their own homes as well as in other settings like its Kailua Home, nursing homes and other facilities. The non-profit organization offers Integrated Care for those with serious but treatable illnesses, and Hospice Care for those near their journey’s end, providing assistance with pain management and symptom control. Navian Hawaii provides caregiver support, grief counseling, and complementary therapies including art, aroma, massage, healing touch, and reiki. Navian Hawaii has offices on Oahu, Molokai and Lanai and accepts referrals 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). Provides counseling and guidance, physical and mental restoration, interpreter and reader services, technological aids, occupational licenses and rehabilitation technology. Independent living services for the severely disabled include recreational referrals, basic skill development, mobility training and instruction in personal home management skills. Provides technological aids and devices appropriate to achieving goals.

(Domestic Violence Advocacy) Families who are enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Temporary Assistance to Other Needy Families (more commonly known as “welfare”), are required to be engaged in activities that will ultimately lead them to self-sufficiency. Program recipients for whom issues of safety and domestic violence are interfering with their progress can call upon Domestic Violence Advocacy to help them find support to change their situations. Services include: assessment, service planning, counseling services, case management and linkage and referral. Provides client advocacy for women referred by Department of Human Services (DHS) in need of case management and support to leave domestic violent relationships. Six month time period given to provide victims the opportunity to gain focus and perspective of their personal goals and career choice.
