Recruits businesses, firehouses, agencies, etc. in the community as Safe Places, identified by easily recognized yellow and black diamond shaped signs. Any youth can go to a Safe Place for help. A trained worker at the Safe Place will talk to the youth to determine the immediate problem and act in the youth's behalf.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Maui operates a drop-in service facility for youth ages 8 years old to 18 years old, if enrolled in high school. Programs and activities include: character and leadership; healthy lifestyles; sports, fitness, and recreation; education; and workforce development.

(SASS, Empowering Alternatives Program, EAP, Sexual Assault Response and Advocacy Services, SARAH) Operates a 24-hour crisis hotline for persons affected by a sex assault, including women, men, girls and boys. Offers information, referral and direct support to any person victimized. Support is also provided during police, medical examinations and legal matters surrounding the crime, advocacy, counseling, and therapy.

(Food Pantry) Kurtistown Assembly of God provides food to families and individuals who have run out of food. ID is required.

Provides correctional care and custody of adult law offenders committed by the Courts to serve sentences, and arrested persons who cannot post bail.

(Food Bank) Hawaii Foodbank operates two AIB-certified warehouses on Oahu and Kauai where we receive, inspect, sort, store and distribute food to our communities. Food is sourced from manufacturers, growers, retailers, wholesalers, Feeding America, individual and corporate food drives and federal commodities where our staff and volunteers prepare these items for safe and efficient distribution through our partnership of more than 200 agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, domestic abuse shelters and rehabilitation centers. Food distribution is also through food pantries in local communities and the Ohana Produce Plus program, which provides fresh produce and assorted groceries to anyone in need while supplies last. To become a food partner agency, organizations must be a publicly supported 501(c)(3) and meet Hawaii Foodbank and Feeding America requirements. Administers statewide system of commercial harbors consisting of seven deep draft and two medium draft harbors. The seven deep draft ports serving the State are Honolulu and Barbers Point on the island of Oahu, Port Allen and Nawiliwili on the island of Kauai, Kahului on the island of Maui, and Hilo and Kawaihae on the island of Hawaii. Assesses and treats swallowing disorders. Provides mobility training or wheelchair skills. Develops adaptive techniques and custom-designed equipment. Provides speech theraphy. Computer therapy for visual, perceptual, and cognitive training. Stroke Support Group meets every first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Everyone (patient, family, caregivers, etc.) is welcome, there is no membership fee.

Two main programs make up the foundation of Abilities Unlimited - the Medicaid Waiver Program and the Employment Program: -Medicaid Waiver Program serves individuals with disabilities referred by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division, offering personal assistance/habilitation services, adult day health services, and employment services for medicaid waiver clients. -Employment Program serves clients referred by the State of Hawaii Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), assisting individuals with disabilities and other barriers to gain and maintain employment. Church of the Pacific's food pantry at Anahola Beach Park is on Wednesday 10:30 am until they run out of food.

We provide clean and sober housing, bridge to success transitional housing, resource referrals, parenting classes, life skills classes, substance abuse relapse prevention, intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment, re-entry from incarceration, domestic violence education, employment services, case management, and advocacy. WIN is committed to guiding women and teens towards sobriety, self-esteem and responsibility through our warm, nurturing and holistic approach. We help our clients develop positive life skills they need to become independent and productive members of our community. We do everything we can to break the generational cycle of hopelessness and abuse. WIN gives preference for admission of pregnant women in our housing and treatment program.

Works in partnership with County Early Childhood Resource Coordinator to promote coordinated early childhood education and care system for children from birth to age eight in the County of Maui. Provides phone consultations, information on early childhood related topics, and referrals to early childhood services. Child care payment subsidies are available to qualified working families, children with parents in school/job training, and retired grandparents raising their grandchildren. Also collaborates with the Department of Education in providing school readiness materials and programs.

Sounding Joy's Direct Services include music therapy consultation, assessment, treatment planning, evaluation, and individual/group sessions conducted by Board Certified Music Therapists (MT-BC's). Music therapy sessions can be offered either individually or in group, according to the client's needs. We have grants and scholarships available to assist with payment for music therapy services.
