(Kula) --Referrals through the Hawaii CARES line-- Community Empowerment Resources’ Maui Crisis Stabilization Center is an around-the-clock crisis stabilization facility designed for individuals experiencing emotional, behavioral, or psychological crises. Our primary goal is to effectively resolve the crisis and help clients regain stability. We offer a secure and therapeutic environment for adults aged 18 years old or older, providing support for up to 14 days.

A Cup of Cold Water is an outreach care van ministry of the Episcopal Churches on Maui and Community Friends delivering basic needs of water, nutrition, clothing and comfort to the neediest of Maui's people. Weekly runs are made to the homeless in Central, West and South Maui on days and times when they are not serviced by others. A Cup of Cold Water Care is an all volunteer outreach and all donations go directly to meeting the basic needs (plus a lot of comfort) of the homeless clients served. A Cup of Cold Water does not help with housing.

A nationwide, nonprofit mail order pharmacy that provides access to affordable (no hidden / additional fees) prescription medications for low income individuals and families that are uninsured, insured, on Medicare or Medicaid or have no supporting documentation. Issues permits for hiking, hunting, taking of plants from reserve areas. Sells seedlings for Christmas trees, reforestation and wind breaks. Manages public hunting areas, public hiking areas, forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, natural area reserves. Accepts reports of forest pests, including new and unusual weeds and certain birds. Pest reports accepted include: wild pigs, snakes, large lizards, coqui frogs, ferrets, the banana poka (a weed), the bulbul (a bird) on neighbor islands. Also accepts birds that the public drop off for West Nile testing.

Comfort Malama teddy bears are provided to hospitals and Honolulu Department fire trucks. Layettes (Baby clothing) are provided for new mothers in need at area hospitals, as indicated by hospital personnel. Donations of personal care products to Waikiki Youth Outreach and household items to Hale Kipa youth, aging out of foster care.
