Trafficking Victim Assistance Program

(TVAP) Sex Trafficking Case Management services are provided to juvenile victims and their families or caregivers through the Trafficking Victim Assistance Program (TVAP). In partnership with the Susannah Wesley Community Center and Hale Kipa, Parents And Children Together provides victim centered trauma-informed comprehensive case management to survivors of sex trafficking. Services include crisis response, intake screening, and case management designed to support the victim in leaving the trafficking situation. Home Build for those in need of a new home. Home Preservation for those in need to repair their existing home including making it ADA compliant. Honolulu Habitat for Humanity helps families build, purchase or repair their own homes. Families work alongside volunteers. The programs are financed through Honolulu Habitat's low to no interest mortgage program. Builds and renovates homes using volunteer labor and donated materials, at no profit and no interest. Homeowners repay the cost over a fixed time period; payments are recycled to build more homes. It requires homeowners to participate in construction as well as help other prospective homeowners build theirs. Volunteers assist with all phases of construction, social work, public relations, finance, and office support. The Honolulu ReStore sells new and gently used donated household, commercial, and business items to the public at a drastic discount; with discounts of 50% or greater than the average retail price. Salvation Army Oahu - March 2026 Kona Low Disaster Relief Assistance

--The Salvation Army is suspending financial assistance distributions at The City and County of Honolulu Community Assistance Center at Waialua District Park as of April 7, 2026, with its Emergency Disaster Services pivoting to provide meals at county shelters during the current storm event. Appointments previously scheduled for April 8–9, 2026 will be rescheduled. Upcoming distribution activities and locations will be announced to meet new and ongoing community needs. Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Temporary Assistance for Other Needy

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households.
