We support, educate and advocate for choice at the end of life. We support individuals as they navigate their way through the health care system. We support legislation relating to choice in dying as well as work to stop legislation that restricts choice. We advocate for those whose end-of-life wishes are not being followed. We provide state-specific advance directives and information on how to complete these documents. Proponents of aid in dying for incurable and terminally ill mentally competent persons, requesting aid in dying to achieve a peaceful death.

Jury trials are held in the Circuit Courts, which have general jurisdiction in civil and criminal cases. They also have exclusive jurisdiction in probate, guardianship and criminal felony cases, as well as civil cases where the contested amount exceeds $40,000. Circuit Courts share concurrent jurisdiction with District Courts in civil non-jury cases in which the amounts in controversy are between $10,000 and $40,000. Other cases heard by the Circuit Courts include mechanics' liens and misdemeanor violations transferred from the District Courts for jury trials.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: fall, spring, and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music and dance, seasonal activities and crafts, excursions and swimming. The Aging and Disability Resource Center is the source for individuals who are aging and have disabilities to get impartial information about support and services that help them remain living at home as long as possible with dignity and quality of life. The ADRC staff members provide Options Counseling. It's a process that assists you to make informed decisions to select the long term services and support you need to age well and maintain independence. The ADRC is for people of all incomes and ages, to help you make plans that carry out your individual needs and preferences. It is also a point of access for all publically funded long term support programs and benefits. ADRC is operated by the State of Hawaii in cooperation with the four county governments. Anyone who wants to explore their options for long term support and services, or for help to family caregivers, may also use the ADRC website to search an online database for options, or to request the ADRC staff to contact them.

Enforces the Payment of Wages and Other Compensation, Hawaii Wage and Hour, Wages and Hours of Employees on Public Works, Unlawful Suspension or Discharge Due to Work Injury, Child Labor, and Hawaii Family Leave. Conducts labor law compliance investigations relating to unpaid wages, vacation, and holiday pay, illegal deductions, late pay, pay statement, and notification requirements; minimum wage, overtime, and payroll record keeping; and prevailing wage and overtime.

Responsible for fire protection, rescue, HazMat, emergency medical response and ocean rescue services. Provides fire prevention education. Dispatches fire fighters and rescue squad personnel for emergencies. Issues firework permits. Blood pressure screening is offered at all Kauai Fire Stations except at the Kauai Fire Department administration office.

Support the basic needs and enhancement requests of child victims of severe abuse. We do not have direct contact with clients and cannot take their calls. All requests for FCJCO assistance must be made through a child abuse professional working with a client.

(ADAD) Plans, coordinates and implements statewide services relative to alcohol and drug abuse. Certifies substance abuse counselors and program administrators and accredits substance abuse programs. Agency does not provide direct services to the public but funds various private agencies.

UCPA's Early Intervention Services is sponsored by the State of Hawaii's Department of Health - Early Intervention Section. The program provides services to children between the ages of birth to three years of age with developmental delays. Services are provided in each child's natural environment (e.g., home) with the goal of educating, enhancing and coaching parents and caregivers to support development within the context of the child's daily routines and activities.

We provide in-home care services which include companionship, light housekeeping, cooking, supervision, Activities of Daily Living; including bathing, toileting, transfer assistance, dressing, feeding, and grooming, and various other duties as determined by the assessment. Kokua Care Foundation Charitable Care Services (KCFCCS) provides these care services at no charge to qualified individuals, and at-cost services for individuals who are unable to qualify for the program, but have shown the need for service. These services are provided by Kokua Care.

Serves current and former foster youth in Hawai‘i who are transitioning out of the foster care system, into adulthood.
