Provides caregivers and others touched by Alzheimer's disease and dementia related an opportunity to meet, vent frustration, share coping techniques, learn more about the disease and resources available.

Welcomes and accepts volunteers (including high school students, college students, working adults and senior retirees). Volunteers assist Health System employees with acute care, long-term care and geriatric care. Duties range from clerical support to companionship activities within nursing home residents or patient assistance at the medical center. Volunteers also participate in hospital tours for visitors. Volunteers are accepted year round. Upon acceptance into the program, volunteers attend a general orientation given by the supervisor of their assigned department. Most volunteers work one to two times a week and a minimum of three hours a shift. Weekends are available.
